In the second half of Time Team's original run, Jimmy Adcock quickly became an integral part of the team, bringing his considerable GPR knowhow (and legendary pranks) to John Gater's geophys arsenal.
On screen, Jimmy might easily have been mistaken for a gardener, busily 'mowing the lawn' out of focus in the background. In fact, he was surveying the landscape using state-of-the-art GPR instruments, mapping hidden features beneath our feet in incredible 3D detail.
Time and ag...

As we edge closer to our digs, it's time to start thinking about what we'll need to bring with us. Just like a seaside holiday, there'll be plenty of buckets and spades. Optimistically, we're packing the sun screen, just in case the sun decides to grace us with its presence!
But what exactly do you need to bring for both an archaeological excavation and a television shoot?
Thankfully our good friends Derek Pitman and Lawrence Shaw aka 'Career in Ruins' are on-hand to provide...

As the dust settles on the opening round of Site Wrestles, Series Producer Tim Taylor catches up with Helen Geake to reflect upon what they've learnt. Quite a lot, as it turns out!
There's been much debate (among the team and Patrons) around the pros and cons of Time Team's traditional format, as well as the opportunity to explore different approaches in this new era. Tim and Helen tease out these ideas further, considering the value in taking a longer view on certain sites.
