In this session, we meet some of our Producer Patrons, highlighting the global reach of Time Team's supporters – from the East Coast of the UK to the West Coast of the USA!

Series Producer Tim Taylor shares an update on some of the technology now at our disposal, and the Producers put their questions to Tim.

Then, the gauntlet is laid down for an impromptu Site Wrestle...

I think this new concept is great and agree that by delving deeper and broader on each site you will draw more people in and by encouraging responses from outside and more interactivity you will certainly succeed. I am hugely looking forward to it.

Elizabeth really summed up my thinking when she referred to the 1 hour programmes as Time Team in a bottle, and discussed the advantages of all the before and after material. I always wanted to know what had gone before, and after. I am really excited about the concept of different aspects to dip into.

Thank you Sue :). I put in a ticket to Vimeo Support. TT posted "Missing Videos" and said it's happening to a few people on their phones. I can watch it on a computer but not my phone

Kathleen Garza

I've just watched it and it's fine

Sue Oldham

I'm finally trying to catch up but it says the link to this video doesn't work. Anyone else having the same problem?

Kathleen Garza

I would also love some "where are they now?" followup episodes/specials on some of the sites from over the years

fred

That would be awesome!

I do wonder if the fact there will be fewer shows will make it more likely that some of the old hands may at least pop into the pub!

When watching old Time Team episodes, I have often wondered about the destiny of both the sites and the finds. I know that some (several?) TT sites have turned into long-lasting digs, and I would love to see more follow up on those. Also, it would be nice to see where some of the nice finds end up, how they're analysed in detail. Both of these things, just like the commentary by Sam that was mentioned, would be great "bonus material" to TT episodes, in my opinion.

take a look at Time Signs, 1991 (30 year ago, for G-dssake!)

I like the idea suggested by Tim at the ned..a potential library of different links for the sites exploring certain aspects of items or subjects related to the site.

Mark Lund

I LOVE the prospect of more background information, and the “library” of additional tidbits for those who want to know more. For someone like me, who is not in the UK, all of that can help put things into better context historically and add more flavor from a “people” and culture perspective. For instance, today I finally looked up “Ridge and Furrow” and now understand the historical agriculture much better.

This chat was amazing to watch, loved the Canadian representation (much love from British Columbia). I'm very excited for TT Unleashed! The sadness of fewer digs is far outweighed by the prospect of much more in depth information that in house production can offer. I'm looking forward to parallel filming of interviews, interactive content and all other possibilities that can accompany the actual digging.

Doggerland related shows were fantastic. The scientific analysis by UCL on sea rise has convinced several I shared those shows with that global change can be fast and is real.

I'm just greedy. I absolutely support the idea of more pre dig info. with a 'programme'/video covering this, the dig/investigation programme, and a follow up, or maybe more than one follow up when more research comes to light. But also, I would feel hard done by if there were only 2 a season. I'm sure that is not the ambition, but you cannot do enough of these in my opinion...except, as Tim says, it may become too much for the producers and much of the free time given. More funding needed clearly.

Mark Lund

Hi Laura, thanks for the comment. In short, the answer is yes. Diversity is an extremely important point that we 're taking very seriously at Time Team, and we'll be talking about this more as we bring the team together in the weeks ahead.

Time Team

I loved it! loved it! loved it! I had the same questions; thank you. Tim, you ask for feedback: in front of recent racial reckoning in the US and in England, Time Team needs to add elements of diversity, equity and inclusion, DEI. Are you considering archeologists, scholars, and scientists of color in the team? Thank you.
