Time Team Assemble!

"We're putting the band back together!"

Following the announcement of our first two dig sites, things are starting to get just a little bit exciting here at Time Team HQ.

We're edging closer to our target of 5000 supporters on Patreon – thank you all so much for joining us, we really appreciate your support! But can you help us spread the word further and smash our goal?

Put simply, the more supporters we get, we more we can do!

NOTE: We'll be putting this out on our YouTube channel soon, so when we do, please like, share, comment and repost!

No I haven't, I must.

Just found time team last year on Amazon Prime Video and fell in love with it. what wonderful chemistry between the entire team (at least on camera lol) y'all like your pints a bit. I am glad to be a new supporting member. I have had a love for history and archeology since I was a wee lad about yeah high to a grasshopper's knee. always wanted to do archeology, but cannot find the funds for schooling. Am eagerly awaiting what happens next. am almost done watching season 19, and am so glad that the story is going to be ongoing. Safe digging y'all! (watch out for those venomous salamanders, they are real ankle biters! lol

I never thought this would happen. I'm so glad to be a part of this! When this show went off the air in the USA on Discovery, at least for me, in 2005 I was upset. Here and there I was able to get a glimpse of some bootleg episodes on Youtube later from other fans of the show. This is the best!

Just became a supporter, super excited to have Time Team back! One of my favorite shows of all time! More science more better! I can't even watch fiction without cringing, shows like this are all I really have for entertainment, which for me requires learning something or doing something. I seem to get no enjoyment from watching someone else act a role someone else wrote in the way a 3rd person would like them to based on the wishes of a group of jerks running a studio... its just to convoluted and complicated, I'm over that crap gimme some science or history, or BOTH!

I fully understand the need for confidentiality and I thank you for your reply. It must be a difficult balance to reach. I have been a fan of Time Team for 27 years and will continue to support its return. I hope there might be other ways to become involved as this new iteration of Time Team progresses.

So happy to see so many of my Time Team favourite faces. Hope Phil Harding will be back on board too.

As a high-risk individual, COVID has been particularly isolating for me. How fortunate I feel to have happened onto the Time Team channel - running out of episodes! - and now able to support its return. Thank you all for your commitment.

We trust you! I’ve actually just upped my subscription tier as I was missing a lot of the discussion in the ‘digger’ tier.

Bron Lloyd

And we/they certainly dont want treasure hunters out there trashing a site before hand, that we have been involved in getting excavated.

Mark Lund

I am a big fan of Time Team and am so happy to join this effort. Your shows are so informative and amusing with the various personalities. Speaking of personalities, I surely hope Phil Harding will join the team. He adds so much joy to the digs.

Have to watched John's talk from the meet up on Lindisfarne?

I join the above in my happiness to support this endeavour. You all put together a wonderfully interesting show before, about a somewhat dry subject, And I have faith you'll do it again! Thank you! I would say" just be real" but you already are to me. Keep it up! Love Carenza and Helen on the show (And Mick and Robin --will miss them). but overall- Do yer thing!

Kathryn Schauf

I love Stewart and John's humour, so looking forward to the team coming back.

It's not that the three-day format is being removed entirely – there are many benefits (both logistical and for the audience) in planning a dig around a fixed time-scale. It's more that this new approach allows greater flexibility to adapt the model as appropriate to a specific site, combined with the additional insight we can share. Whether a certain dig is three days, five days or whatever, through Patreon and YouTube, we can provide more colour in the build up to and aftermath of the dig. Some preliminary survey work on a site, for example, might allow a more targeted approach on the ground when the dig starts. Likewise, we hope to continue to build on our understanding of a site long after a dig is completed, working with local communities to create an ongoing legacy. It's a hybrid approach that will hopefully combine the best bits of the original format with the flexibility and technology of today!

Time Team

Hi. Thanks for this and a great point. As we often highlight in various discussions, many sites involve extensive and ongoing negotiations with various bodies and stakeholders before we're able to reveal specific information. We're very keen to share every step of the process with you, but also have to balance this with our responsibility towards the partners we work with to make these fantastic sites happen. When we are able to share information, Patrons will be the first to know about it, and we hope you – like us – will be very excited by the developments. Best wishes from us all.

Time Team

There seem to be a lot of "secret" sites and things going on that Patreon supporters are not privy to. Should those who fund it not be given more information?

A Bleese

THere's gotta be a "THREE" something.... three weeks?

Kay Theriault

DITTO! on the Covid salvation! A fantastic distraction from both Covid and politics here in the US.Wish I had access from the beginning .

Daniel Rowley

I take it there won't be any more of the "just three days" ?
