Let's start with another 3D model, created by Adam Stanford using aerial photogrammetry.

Wow, what a response to Day 1 of our Knights Hospitaller dig! Remember, it's your support that directly makes this all possible, so thank you again for helping us to uncover more history.
The dig got off to a great start, with Richard K Morriss identifying a Saxon font that might be over a thousand years old! It predates the Hospitallers, of course, but what an incredible find for Gus's virtual museum.

It's always the way... we visit a site to answer one or two key questions, and then end up with 200 more! But that's the beauty of archaeology.

One of the best bits about archaeology is when it introduces us to individual characters from the past. Our story at Broughton Roman Villa has largely centred on the lady of the sarcophagus, but in this next clip we meet some other personalities... of the four-legged kind!
When Dani and Naomi visited the lab to analyse finds from our 2021 dig, they highlighted three different types of evidence that confirm the presence of canine companions on site.

For centuries, storytellers and bards have regaled audiences with epic tales set to music.
While archaeology helps us to recover lost details from the past, how can we bring the sounds back to life, too? Thankfully, we ...
