S22 | Knights Hospitaller (Halston) - 3D model

Despite some very cold and wintery weather here in the UK, believe it or not, we're actually heading into Spring. That's very good news for Time Team fans because it's almost time to unleash the first of our brand new episodes!

Behind the scenes, it's a hive of activity as we put the finishing touches on the programmes and also prepare for another busy year ahead, with several fantastic projects in the works.

We have some very special surprises on the way and, of course, you'll be the first to hear about them, right here on Patreon. Keep a look out for some big announcements.

To get us in the mood, it's time for another 3D model โ€“ a Knights Hospitaller re-enactor, captured using the latest handheld scanning technology on site at Halston Hall, Shropshire, last September.

View the model on Sketchfab HERE.

Wow... that's a heavy bit of kit, and not at all what I was imagining. These excellent 3-D renderings still blow my mind. We are so fortunate to have such talented & experienced professionals bringing this amazing technology to the Time Team table. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ love it!!

This is ramping up nicely. The pace seems right

David Morrissey

That's awesome, thank you! Sad to see he couldn't afford a whole sword though, just the handle. :-D

Christopher Samuel

An outstanding rendering. I'm struck by clothing's simplicity. It seems as if we have complicated our clothing to some extent. Don't get me wrong: I won't give up zippers!!

Donna Shelton

Thank you for the wonderful extras you share with us! It gives so much more depth to the stories. I'm very excited about the new episodes and am trying to rein in my impatience for them to be posted. You rock, Time Team!

Oh, good! I'm not the only one who did that! ๐Ÿคฃ

Dropping by from the far side of The Pond, here! This really is wonderful work. First time I've ever heard of Sketchfab, but had no problems accessing this from your link. The quality if the image is superb. I'm looking forward to checking out other models.

That's pretty good too

The most creepy part of this model is when you go underneath at the bottom and realize that he is hollow from foot to helmet! You can see clear through him! Ghost!!!

Jon Colcord

Oooh, very cool! Thanks, Andy!

I also enjoy 3d printing and would also love to see more of the Time Team models being available in stl format. You may be interested in a model of a Knight Hospitaller I uploaded to Sketchfab last year - it is available to download for printing (for free) - click this link https://skfb.ly/owsDZ. Hope this is helpful. Andy

Fantastic model! Quite a sinister take on a Knight - you would certainly want him to be on your side in a battle! Last year I published a model of a Knight Hospitaller on Sketchfab - a slightly more romantic and stylised approach to the subject! Patreon supporters can view this model by clicking this link https://skfb.ly/owsDZ. I have included an stl file for 3d printing. Please do upload more 3d models Time Team - they really add to the viewing experience as we view the new episodes. Many thanks. Andy

Andy Woodhead

Such a fantastic tool.

Kerry Hennigan

Not that I want to heap even more work on you guys, you already do so much amazing stuff, but it'd be super cool if (at a later point in time) some favourite 3D models were converted into 3D-printable STL files. I paint miniatures and I'd love to have a "Time Team Collection" of both locations and characters.
