I had speech therapy on Monday, and my recovery is still going well! It's just an up and down process as I just reached two months post op, meaning my voice is still settling, strengthening, etc.
I have good days and less than good days. But never bad or hoarse days anymore! There's noticeable improvements every few days/every week, and it's super motivating! You just never realize how much conscious effort it takes to sing or voice act until stuff like this happens, so my voice feels ...

I had my post op appointment yesterday and I have one piece of sucky news but mostly good news!
First, the sucky bit! I've been under the weather the past few days because, of course, my brother got me sick. Itโs practically a rite of passage for me to catch something right after surgery like clockwork, both times now! ๐ค๐ค๐ค Thankfully, no coughing this round (which is a miracle considering my voice situation), but Iโve been feeling a little off, mainly weak, tired, and my ...

A bit of a late update because I'm still recovering, but I'm out of surgery and have been home since yesterday evening! It took me a bit longer to get out of anesthesia yesterday compared to last time, and I also had to stay at the hospital longer than the previous surgery for two main reasons:
1.) Post-op sucked wayyy more. Since they used a laser instead of a blade this time, my throat felt way more stingy and raw, like a burning sore throat. Last time the discomfort was there but ma...

It's April and this month is a big month!
Before we get to the important stuff, reposting the DLsite audios on here slipped my mind so I apologize! Things have been so hectic. I'll do my best to get them up asap, and then I have to make thumbnails for the re-uploads to YouTube also. But that will get done! Also these will be free!
As for the bigger thing, I have my surgery in 16 days and am very nervous like last time! But I am also genuinely excited this time because this shou...

Two quick announcements!
First off, I had to call myself today to schedule the surgery (no surprise), but surgery is set for April 17th!
Second, DLsite sent an email to me and all other creators around a month ago that due to all the pressure from Visa/Mastercard the past year that some products would be region locked. As a result, a lot of countries would no longer be able to see some of the content on there. Even some of my own stuff is no longer able to be seen by me unless I...

I had my March 10th appointment, and both my doctor and speech therapist confirmed that I have very limited options at this point. Unfortunately, a vocal rest or even a steroid injection would only help inflammation and wouldnโt fix the more physical issues like the cup/saucer formation and the keratin buildup.
Itโs now 100% confirmed that Iโll be having another surgery. I just have to wait for the call this week to get it scheduled, but it looks like I may have to end up calling...

Hello, a bit of a sucky update!
Firstly, update with the gene situation: I DO have it, specifically CHEK2. I got referred to Cancer Prevention and Wellness to come up with a personal care plan for me to help prevent it and reduce my chances of getting it! To clarify, I do not have breast cancer nor am I guaranteed to get it. A woman's normal risk is around 12.9%, and due to my gene, I'm roughly 23-27% risk right now (this is a guesstimate) but could go up to 40% of a chance. Also due t...

This month has just been super overwhelming so sorry I haven't given a February update til now :c I have to just make a numbered list for you guys to not have to read a shit ton of stuff because it's wild!
1.) For those of you who don't have twitter, I explained earlier this month how my vocal recovery is doing better and I'm having more good days (I've had 8 good range days this month), but I'm also under a lot of medical stress due to potentially having a gene my mom had that caused ...

Happy New Year everyone! ๐ฉท I wanted to pop in and let you know how things are going with my recovery. I'm still healing very well, things are just going slow. But Iโm doing my best to stay committed and patient through it all!
Hereโs the latest updates:
โข My range, breathiness, and fluctuations are still giving me trouble.
โข After my appointment on Dec 31st, my voice routine changed a lot! Iโm now only doing a few minutes of vocal exercises in the morning and...

Hello, more updates and appointment updates!
I've been pretty quiet since I've been focusing on doing my vocal exercises and also just didn't have much to speak about! I've been retraining my voice stamina since my voice will still get breathy and tired at times, but I'm still doing way better than I was before. A few days ago I was able to sing for 40 minutes straight before I started to tire out, which is an improvement!
The issue is I do still have range problems (specifical...

Hi again! I had another speech therapy appointment and have some updates. Also gonna start using initials to make it easier to talk about my speech therapist and voice doctor instead of having to say "my speech therapist/my voice doctor" over and over (so for future reference M = speech therapist, DB = voice doctor).
Vocal Folds
In my last post, I mentioned how there was raised tissue on both of my vocal folds from where the nodules were removed. M scoped me on the ...

Hello! I had a couple of important follow-up appointments with my doctor and speech therapist yesterday, and Iโve got a lot of good news to share! ๐
Doctorโs Post-Op Appointment: My vocal nodules are officially gone! ๐ My doctor did notice my vocal folds still look a bit โbeat up,โ likely due to the healing process or the sinus infection I got two days after surgery. Thereโs some mild inflammation, along with steroid residue and mucus, but this is all p...

Here's the promised update on my voice! Difference is May 2024 when I found out I had nodules versus today :> I never got around to recording an "after starting speech therapy" clip but it wasn't much different from May!
I also misspoke a couple of times in the one from today because I was so excited but here's what I meant to say:
โข I got sick two days after my surgery, not two weeks

Like I told you all, I'd make an update the day of surgery if I felt up to it and I feel good! I feel way better than I thought I'd feel after getting operated on lmao. But today was surgery day and it was crazy!
โข I got up at 5am and got to the hospital at 6am to wait. I went through all the paper work and all that good stuff with the doctor, nurses and surgical team over the course of 1-2 hours. They also explained the procedure and anesthesia stuff to me.

Pre-op appointment was on the 6th and everything went well. My health was great, so surgery is locked in for the 19th!
Starting on the 12th (7 days before surgery), I have some herbal supplement restrictions. Most of them don't apply to me aside from multivitamins and green tea, though.
I also got to speak with the nursing and surgical team and have more information about how things are gonna go on the day of surgery:
โข I have to be at the hospital by 6:30am, meaning I...

Hello! Not a long update, but all the important dates are officially scheduled and set in stone. I've listed everything below!
โข September 6th: Pre-op appointment. They'll be going over my medical history, doing physical exams, lab tests, etc to make sure I can handle anesthesia and surgery. As far as I know, I don't have any health issues that should affect me getting surgery, but I'll still let you all know how it went after.

Hello! I had my surgery consultation today to discuss the surgery process, risks, etc. My doctor did notice that I project my voice better now and I'm rarely hoarse, but the issue of my voice still being unnaturally low-pitched/deep is there.
But also some surprise news: it turns out that they're not going to be doing laser surgery. I'm getting a microlaryngoscopy, which means they'll be cutting the nodules off.
I copy pasted more detailed specifics:
"A microlaryngoscopy ...

Hey everyone! I had my August 6th appointment today, and a lot of stuff happened. Like I mentioned before, from July 11th - August 6th we were taking a break to see if I'd make any improvements when I came back. I didn't make any aside from projecting my voice better and better breath control, but still zero changes to my pitch.
When I got to my speech therapy session today, my therapist told me that during my break, my voice doctor and various other voice doctors were all looking at m...

Hello, it's been a couple weeks since my last update, so I wanted to give an update on my progress I'm making in speech therapy so far!
As you may know from my last post, I started my speech therapy on June 18th and had my second session on June 24th, and so far so good!
I'm pretty sure I mentioned before that due to my nodules, my voice shifted into my throat to compensate which was causing my deep voice and hoarseness. In my first speech therapy session, my therapist was pre...

Hello, so earlier today I had my appointment with my new doctor, and he confirmed that I do have vocal nodules! Since he's a voice focused ENT and this office has a whole voice department, they had more tech than my normal ENT (higher quality cameras to see my voice box, sound machines to detect my voice issues, etc) so it was wild. I learned a lot about how vocal nodules work, and due to the nodules on my vocal folds touching before my vocal folds do, that's what's causing my hoarseness/pitc...

MEDICAL UPDATE #2
Like I mentioned in my last post, my follow up appointment with my ENT was May 13th/yesterday, and good news is my thrush is practically gone. But the bad news is it turns out that thrush isn't the cause of my vocal issues - I actually have lesions on my vocal cords.
I did suspect that this was what I had when I originally got sick since I had almost every symptom for it (my voice pitch being extremely low and hoarse, voice cracking, having to put ...

Hello, long time no see! Most of you already know I got sick for two weeks in August 2023 with a bad cough, and then was sick again on and off for two months after that. Since then I've had moments where my voice temporarily recovered and I'd think I could get back to recording, only for my voice to return back to its previous condition. Due to that I've been pushing off making any actual updates until I either a.) fully recovered vocally for good or b.) had solid answers as to why I've been ...

Hi everyone! Long time no see! I'm excited to get back to making audios again, but first I'd like to give you guy a detailed explanation for my absence and content plans for the month.
Voice Issues
As you guys know, unfortunately I got sick in August 2023 and a few more times after that, which resulted in persistent vocal issues that made me unable to record. There were various times where I tried to record and it resulted in making it worse (yes I'm stubborn lmao)....
