Surgery + Recovery Dates

Hello! Not a long update, but all the important dates are officially scheduled and set in stone. I've listed everything below!

• September 6th: Pre-op appointment. They'll be going over my medical history, doing physical exams, lab tests, etc to make sure I can handle anesthesia and surgery. As far as I know, I don't have any health issues that should affect me getting surgery, but I'll still let you all know how it went after.

• September 19th: As long as pre-op goes okay and there's no problems, this will be my surgery date! I will also be completely unable to speak after my surgery. I'll do my best to make a post later that night detailing everything as long as I'm feeling okay after. If I'm too tired/drained, then I'll update you guys the next day.

• September 20th, 21st and 22nd - Vocal rest! My doctor said there's no proven recommended amount of vocal rest after that type of surgery and that I can start speaking minimally 1-2 days later, but I want to play it safe and do 100% vocal rest after my surgery to prevent myself from straining or irritating anything.

• September 23rd and beyond - I'll be doing my speech exercises again to make sure my voice heals correctly and starts to get back to normal.

I'll be fully focused on recovering my voice after my vocal rest until my doctor gives me the okay to do audios again, so that could be 2 or 3+ weeks depending on my individual recovery speed (it's different for everyone so I can't 100% say). But once I get the okay, I won't be full sprinting back into audios again, even though I really want to. 😭

I've been dealing with these nodules for over a year, and even though it's the coughing from my sickness last year that caused them, I'm still a bit paranoid about potentially bringing them back if I do a ton of audios too soon and strain myself before I'm healed. So once I get the okay to record again, I'll be very careful with my recording amounts until the doctor says I'm fully healed!
