Speech Therapy Update #3 - Final

Hey everyone! I had my August 6th appointment today, and a lot of stuff happened. Like I mentioned before, from July 11th - August 6th we were taking a break to see if I'd make any improvements when I came back. I didn't make any aside from projecting my voice better and better breath control, but still zero changes to my pitch.

When I got to my speech therapy session today, my therapist told me that during my break, my voice doctor and various other voice doctors were all looking at my nodule images and they've come to a mutual agreement that I have large nodules that will be difficult to get rid of with speech therapy alone due to their size + how long I've had them.

After this, they told my therapist that if I decided to continue to stick to speech therapy alone, I wouldn't see any progress for another 6-8 months minimum, and that it would be up to me to decide if I want to still give therapy a chance or speed things up and get surgery.

I obviously preferred to go the natural route if I would have recovered at a normal pace, but 6-8 months minimum just to see a bit of progress is very unrealistic and would push back a lot of the content plans I had, so after talking with my speech therapist today I have decided that I'll go through with the surgery.

I'll be seeing my voice doctor on August 23rd to go over what will happen with the surgery process-wise, what to do in recovery/post-op, etc. I'm very nervous but also looking forward to having my voice back again!
