Nude descending a staircase

The artist Marcel Duchamp painted at least two Cubism-inspired paintings of overlapping nude human figures walking down a staircase in a manner in which both the progression and each step taken could be seen at once. These paintings are named. Nude Descending a Staircase Number 1 and Number 2.

One of these versions, Number 2, was displayed in a well known gallery in 1912 and when the viewing public figured out it was a nude woman, shock abounded and the display was removed.

"No Escape They R Watching"

These messages have a strong meaning to me. Having let go of the life I had in London. Twenty years, where the scrutiny of CCTV, started to play on the sanity of my mind. Is it healthy to be watched? 

I wanted to take two meanings from these words. 

When is it a violation to be a watched? When is it a pleasure?

Anything with consent is pleasurable for me.

When I create art, for me, it's all about playing. It's about starting with an idea, a location, a prop, a costume, a theme, something close to my heart or simply something I want to explore or express, and then from that place making a start and seeing what comes up. What I loved about working with Jamie, is that he plays with light. When you see the music video, that resulted from these first test shoots, you'll see what I mean.

Entitled to Pleasure is all about exploring my relationship with pleasure. 

I remember when one of my patrons (say hello if that was you ;-)) said that I like to be watched, and yet, if someone were to tell me that, or to make a sexual comment , that I would get offended. I agree. There are some things about myself that I consider a shadow...that I don't want to be brought to the light....

And yet, on the other side of the spectrum, there is so much pleasure that I want to ex...

Insecurity
