It's Christmas!

Today I am sharing with you, for the first time, my film London Baby, that I co-produced, acted in and co-wrote.

London Baby was officially selected for 3 film festivals in 2017; Galway (Ireland) Atlanta (America) and Budapest (Hungary)

This film is very close to my heart. It was born out of spontaneity, on a chance meeting between me, Aimee and Adam. 

I impulsively wanted to get to acting class one night, after an argument with a friend, on a night I don't normally take class, i followed my desire, and at the end of the class, we all got talking. Aimee loved my accent, I hers. Adam, who is Irish, had just come back from LA, liked my acting. We headed to the pub and posed the question 

"Why aren't people making more short films?" 

Our class in London was full of talent, and yet everyone was dependent on castings and jobs, rather than creating their own luck. We decided to turn that around. That was on Tuesday. Friday we met for pizza in Camden. Adam and Aimee proposed an idea; to look at who has the baby in a same sex couple. By Saturday we dived into character, and we filmed the first three scenes at Aimee's home in Camden, London. 

We were up until midnight looking at the footage. We decided there was something to it, and decided to come back tomorrow for more. It's raw, independent. We didn't even have many of the things we "should" have done, we broke rules, we only had natural light. But we didn't let that stop us. Adam was working on a vintage camera. It's raw and edgy, which is a style I am more drawn to these days. A chance to get away from the fake, soft screen of Hollywood, and the filtered as fuck generation.

I play Natalie, an artist, whose girlfriend wants to have a baby.

This is the edit that made it into film festivals. I've seen other edits, and this one was not my favourite final cut, truth be told. but getting into Galway was such an affirmation, and for anyone who followed me in 2017, you'll remember that I travelled to Galway for the film festival, the Fleadh as they call it.

This film was a labour of love, spontaneous and in the moment. It was born from "playing", which is my favourite kind of creating. 

I hope you enjoy it...and yes, this is the first release but we filmed this in...2015! So much has happened since then!!!!
