It's in B&W because I absolutely hated how it ended up looking in color. I opted to show off the wheels on the train Uluncha made and drew that Gyro-horse-jump bit to replace it. It also felt too confusing flashing back to back with Jon finger shooting the same goons from under the ground.

A heroic death scene was planned into the middle of this trailer/op like animation and I am going to do it saparetly later on (it even has a saparate soundtrack). Unused STOMP! from Evangelidium

After I finish an animation I usually do not have much (if any) unused scenes left. Again this is because animating eats time and if I want to do several different things over a course of the year I can't be testing out scenes indefinitely.

Perhaps because Evangelidium was intentionally  to be made in sketch in the first half (past vs fully colored present) it allowed for unused material. Because of that I think someone assumed that the flying guar is white and is a reference to r/...

The best part about something taking longer to make than expected is you get cooler ideas for upcoming bits. I am still completely anti 'if you make it forever it will be perfect because it won't ever be finished' so unless I meet a higher bidder it's out in July. I wonder when the next Thlmr episode is. However Thalmor doesn't have scenes with hundres upon hundres of layers to imitate Ben-Hur (for now). But I did want to attempt a super detailed tree blowing in the wind for the 'Moo' episode...

I am really enjoying the return to making background art in After Effects with vector graphics and noise. What Are The Reptile Mouth Membranes Called

There probably still are VHS recordings of me imitating a Jurassik Park Raptor with sfx and all. 

I really wanted to animate that mouth membrane vibration Shin Godzilla middle stage had roaring (only when it is in pain as we know) as it evolved in to the final chungus. And in general a lot of extra frames to keep things breathing.

Finishing a long title scene (kinda like the character posing from Adventure Time intro) for which I picked 8 "main" characters. So I will have flash cards for all of them (two are paired because they are hugging in that one Araki painting even tho I don't think they cross paths much in the story:D).

I was very careful with the pages so this is the best scan quality I can do.

I attempted to color it yesterday but was split between hating the Lancelot color scheme from Code Geass (or any high paladin white-gold aesthetic for that matter) and military grey-green stealth jet smth. Today however I remembered another obscure movie I had on VHS as a kid called Robowar and it's cover art had the same post-Terminator blue-ish 80s techno look which I chose to borrow.

Sometimes I would run ideas I have for the finale of THLMR through my mind and get super excited and then observe the canyon that is the gap between getting to watch the final video and the now. As you know it's the extense of what I have left inspired by TES and obviously what keeps the postponed desire to finish it alive is all the things I made up or redesigned.

Testing the sketch-to-color-for-each-scene-right-away approach further. I like it. Overall time of all steps doesn't change and I always have a slowly growing version of the video to rewatch.

Currently aim for somewhere in June. Still gotta reunite with gatar for parts of the track. Let's have something colorful and tone-varied for a change and another level of kino (which I wanna apply to the other series as well).
