YouTube's bot banned most of my animation wip stories on upload. I'd appeal and it didn't unban only one story. There is no real feedback system with them. But what if the appeal reviewer is not a replicant and is sending me a signal? Well in that case I got just the right sauce.

Steel Ball Run (Animated Opera) WIP

I have finished reading it! I am mostly out of words. The bit about 'the longest way around' is heartbreaking, the perfect fan service of the final battle and Lucy fucking Steel. 

Unless something I will probably finish this one next month or a bit later (take it as you will). We'll see because every time it becomes about trying to out-Dio every fan animation out there. Which in case of this fandom has been rewarding so far.

MIH horse and boiling Dreugh

Sometimes I would animate something I am really proud of but it needs to be only partially visible in the scene. I wanted to share the boiling dreugh but remembered MIH as well and damn I need to add it to instagram cause even in my old 15fps setup it's a solid frame by frame slow motion. At the time I even considered re-using  it for any other camera-facing horses.

Learning

I rewatched Howl's Walking Castle (maybe my favorite Miyazaki film because I  heavily relate to the hair dye meltdown scene) and obviously I can't resist analysing how the animation is made. 

I've noticed that a lot of floaty feeling characters in modern Miyazaki films have is accomplished by (among other things) adding an extra move to every simple action.

The whole 3D interior was modelled by Uluncha (https://www.instagram.com/ulun.cha.3d/?hl=en). I love the light on those bottles. Maybe I will post the texture pack I made for it. Every table and carpet is custom made.

Early Summer sketches.

Initially I thought it would be one inside the other. But I like using the the limited tools the world already has (Oblivion gates). And I mean how was Aku supposed to get inside? With a ladder? Notice rows of sigils along the shoulders. This is from before I realized it needs to be made of something that is there in plain sight. Like a whole ducking country. Nevermind the dick-tower.

Summer

Switching to drawing in 24fps produced several personal 'wows'. Everybody knew about Akulakhan bones already but Akulakhan wasn't big enough. Good as only as an exo-skeleton to distance-control something much larger.
