a year since death

It's one year on from Hans's death, August 8th. I was in the kitchen one morning sitting around the kitchen table with the lady I live with and her friend. I wasn't sure if I quite took to her friend, I judged her as an old hippie. I mostly listened to their conversation, not sharing much of myself. Suddenly she turned to me and asked me to share the story of my fiancé and his death.

Getting acquainted with silence

I came down to the beach early this morning to have the beach alone. I was surprised to discover that many others had my same plan. Already at 7am 20 people had gathered, one to surf, and others to run in the cool breeze before the sun came up. Me? I found a swing chair outside the restaurant overlooking the ocean and rocked back and forward listening to the crash of the waves as I gently brought myself into the day.

Mumbai to Rajasthan

India Day 2-3

Only just landed in Mumbai and we are travelling with the fiancés family to Rajasthan* to attend one of the brothers (it's abig family) engagement party.

In India, sometimes brothers and sisters are not direct brothers and sisters exactly, but they call each other brother and sister, so sometimes it's hard to work out who is related to who! I had to carry a list and write down names there were so many of them in one house!

So we move from 5 (plus me) in a 1.5 ...

Time for a Swim!

India was fascinating and eye opening, but the one thing I missed because I ended up spending so much time in cities, because that's where my friends were, was the sea.

Isn't this stunning? That you can see two oceans....

If you climb up the clay wall and are willing to bum slide down to the other side, you get to another beach which is usually more private and is often another spot for going without clothes..

2 Oceans

I met up with George after our shoot, I thought we were going to the beach. Well, to be fair we ended up at the beach, but the hike to get there was not what I was expecting!

The ocean you can see behind the ocean, that's where we ended up. Instead of going the ordinary way, which is challenging enough as it is, as it is very steep and you have to slide down on your bum, and in summer the clay is very dry and it's a long way down.

Fall in Love With Malta!

The plan was to get to the beach BEFORE the tourists arrived! So that I wouldn't get shy taking photos in front of crowds of people....that was the plan!

My cameraman George (that's him with the bare back) picked me up at 7.30am, we picked up our takeaway Cappucino's and shot some pics on the scaffolding.

By the time we hit the swings.......this was the crowd in front of me !!!!!

I had to seize the moment and grab this photo opportunity!!! Who knows how long this statue will be here!!!! I don't know who created it, but I just love it! Found this little gem whilst walking to the nAked beach at Riviera, Malta. I wasn't actually at the naKed beach at this point, so I had to whip off my bikini super fast so my friend could capture a shot and avoid any complaints from all the beachgoers! As you know by now public nuDity in Malta is a fineable offense.

Me, after my 2 Day Fast

as I have shared, water fasting was surprisingly NOT easy for me, and if you listened to my vlogs on health, you'll know why.

But it felt good to complete a 2 day fast and discover that once the ketosis kicks in and my body starts burning from my fat because there's no food to work from, that energy was released. I'm pretty hopeful I can do a 3 day now, maybe next week.....the only thing for me is that I LOVE food! And 3 days without is well, boring! so it makes me kind of grumpy, becau...

I chose the fabric and essentially you wear a petticoat and then this really extravagant fabric is wrapped around you and tucked into the petticoat...BUT!!!!!
