We promised we'd be trying out some different viewpoints during the dig, and this next one is spectacular!
We've got hold of a pair of special sunglasses with a built-in camera for each eye, enabling a unique first person perspective on the dig. What's more, Hilde agreed to try them out for us. For many, this will be the closest you'll get to digging at Sutton Hoo!
We'll be trying this out more during the dig, so let us know what you think in the comments.

This week, we'll be mixing up the streams with some different perspective and viewpoints recorded throughout the day, starting with this clip of Hilde giving a brief overview, with the handheld 360-cam (recorded earlier this morning). Look out for some more clips on the way.

What else is left to discover at Sutton Hoo? Quite a lot, actually, according to Helen Geake. She has decamped to the local pub with Sir Tony Robinson to share her own personal connection to the site, and explain why there is so much still to learn.
Who was really buried along with the ship in Mound One? How was such beautiful gold and garnet jewellery crafted? And why was the site located here in the first place? These are just some of the many tantalising questions that remain unanswe...
