Live at Sutton Hoo (Remixed Replay)

Thank to you everyone who joined us for our first ever live show since Time Team's return

We had an incredible turn-out and thank you for bearing with us with the joys of transmitting a genuinely live show direct from the field!

We've made a few tweaks to the live broadcast and have now re-uploaded a version that has fixed some of the tech issues. We're also feeding this back in to the planning for our next live broadcast at the end of the month.

Watch the replay on YouTube HERE.

The digging has now stopped for the weekend, but we look forward to continuing on Monday, so please join us then for more updates from the field, right here on Patreon.

I would have loved to watch this, but even the remix won't play on my laptop, nor on the app. What can I do? Suggestions welcomed.

Valerie Aston

Thanks for this. I found out the answer to one of my questions - Time Team will be at Sutton Hoo for a month! I suspect it's going to be hard to distill this dig down to an episode in 3-day format. Maybe we can look forward to several episodes on this. IMHO the Anglo-Saxons were superb metalworkers, and artists in general. I can see the attraction for Anglo-Saxon specialists.

Andy Quick

It was worth the wait. Fascinating first glimpse into the dig.

David Boon

The bucket reminds me of a Time Team dig from 20+ years ago when they were investigating a site in Hampshire where a detectorist had found another ancient bucket with a very similar inscription on it: “use this, lady, for many happy years.”

Julianne Ture

It was so wonderful to see everyone on TT! Wonderful job and so exciting to see you working on such a historic site. The excitement was palpable and enthusiasm was infectious! It was also wonderful to hear the background info and experience from the previous digs. I loved it!! Woke up early to see you all. Fantastic job!!!

Melody Piercy

So good to see Tony again, it’s like he’s back on top form and energized! 👏🏻💙🤠

Martin Kilner

So so good!

Bron Lloyd

The bucket carving, could that be a depiction of the gladiators found in England?

Kathleen Garza

It was nice to see the relationships that have developed between the team.

Anne

Thanks so much for remastering, great to hear the bits that were lost in transmission before. :-)

Christopher Samuel

It was truly exciting to see Not just Helen and Tony, but Jackie McKinley Naomi, the marvelous Matt, and everyone together again. I always pick up on the excitement generated, but it was so evident with all of you! Thanks for the fun,and all the learning!

Eva Destruction

Fascinating, informative and exciting. Look forward to more as the month goes on.

Mary

The main thing is no-one swore while the mikes were still on. It was a wonderful broadcast - bursting with information. Tech issues were of little consequence for us. Love to you all. We think of you as old friends in our house (Somerset). xxx

Lally

I love the excitement that Helen exhibits and it’s so very catching! I couldn’t view it live but the enjoyment was palpable. I can’t wait for the next one.

Gayle Hales

WOW, the magic comes across... I LOVED IT. So much interesting context. Awesome job, everyone 🙌

Patricia Amero

Thank you for the clean version but I prefer the real, raw and live version. For this viewer it feels more like I am there with the dig, more experiential. Rather be there helping out. Whatever though, it's the best.

Davey

So sorry I missed the live, and I'll try hard to be there next time. Off to watch the replay! 😊

Heather Torrey

Thanks for re-mastering. I didn't find it too distracting yesterday, but I'm sure you learned a few things !
