With the release of Guillermo del Toro's new adaptation of Frankenstein, I thought it would be a good idea to release audiobooks of Mary Shelley's original novel. I'd like to record the whole thing, since it's not too terribly long, and I'll release it in approximately 20-30 minute long chunks, divided along chapter lines. The chapters vary a lot in length so timing the installments rather than reading a certain number of chapters each time seemed the neater option.
Note: for those wond...

To my Audiophillic supporters:
I am afraid that, right after I got over my cold, I acquired tonsillitis and I wasn't able to record. I'm currently resting and the antibiotics I was prescribed are working so I should be back on schedule next week.

Greetings all,
This one has a few major announcements.
The first is that we have unfortunately had to part ways with Arcaxon, who has been doing graphic design and animation for Down the Rabbit Hole for the past seven years. The team wishes him well on his future endeavors.
Arcaxon was able to finish the first half of the animation for the Foxhole video, but we're currently searching for someone to help complete the rest of the animation. I'...

This one is pretty short comparatively, but the last chapter (after this one) is as long as the first two.

As you might have noticed, there was no audiobook again this week. While I'm doing much better and almost back to 100%, my sinuses are still a bit stuffed and my speech sounds rather nasal, which doesn't make for a good audiobook experience. I should, for real, be better over the next few days and should have an audiobook for next week again for real.

Hey everyone,
Those of you at the Audiophile tier might notice that there is no audiobook this week. While I did have the foresight to record and schedule audiobooks during my trip to the UK, I unfortunately did not make one for this week and I caught a head cold on my way back. I don't imagine that anyone would enjoy listening to "Dear Esther: As Read by a Curious Anteater" with all of my sniffling, so I'm afraid it will have to be postponed. This cold is relatively light so I imagine ...

The audiobook this time is a bit odd: I'd like to read the monologues from a game called Dear Esther about a man coming to terms with his overwhelming grief. The structure of the game is peculiar: the only gameplay involves the player walking through a Hebridean island, working their way toward a lighthouse in the distance. When the player walks over specific points in the world as they progress and explore, another monologue will play, taken from a random list depending upon which trigger th...

My dear Patrons,
What a month it's been, and it's not even over. I will be away by the end of the month, and so I'm writing this progress update a bit early.
Much of the first week was spent catching up on various bits of work that needed to be done and had fallen by the wayside, such as adding chapters to all of my old videos, and while I did so, DESR spent time assembling research sources for Project C and finding books for Project D to begin research.
After I was caught u...

This one recently had a short made for it in the Netflix series "Love Death & Robots," and so I felt that it would be nice to share the original short story on which it's based. Please enjoy.
As an aside, any and all criticisms are appreciated; I'd like to make my narration better however I can.

Back on the horse! The plan is one audiobook a week until we're all caught up, which will take quite some time, so enjoy.
This one is an odd one: this short story comes from a terminal in the game "Marathon," one of the games that Bungie Software made before making Halo: Combat Evolved. In Marathon, the player can find a number of terminals with messages from Durandal, the rampant AI that is using the player character for its own purposes. This one is peculiar in its structure and is pr...

Greetings all,
As you likely noticed, Project A, "Unofficial Skyrim Patch," launched earlier this month. Despite it essentially being a retelling of forum arguments, it was extremely laborious to research due to the fact that the Bethesda forums only exist as archives on the Wayback Machine and the very scattered nature of the controversies, as well as some information about certain events being buried.
The completion of this video places us in an interesting position: we now have...

Hello all,
I mentioned in the last progress update that the new video needed just a bit more time, and I'm happy to announce that all music has been finalized and added and all visuals have been placed on the timeline.
The final runtime will be 1:30:44.
All that's left to do is add the zooms and fades and balance the audio, and as I do so, DESR will be preparing the final subtitle file to go along with it. I'll be working over the weekend to get this done in an effort to hav...

Missed it by that much.
Hello everyone! The good news is that the new Down the Rabbit Hole, clocking in at 90 minutes long, is currently in the video editing stage of production. The opening was particularly painful to edit due to so much of it being so conceptual, but now it's moving much faster as I'm entering the more concrete section, where I can literally show what I'm talking about.
The bad news is that we're going to miss our July release goal by what's looking to ...

Greetings,
I'm happy to report that the first draft of the script for the new Down the Rabbit Hole is complete, clocking in at about 14,000 words, which measures out to about 90 minutes long. I originally intended it to be about an hour long, but new discoveries and difficult-to-find information extended both the length of the video and the time to research.
"First draft," however, is a bit deceptive; by this poin...

Hello, everyone
What a fascinating month this has been.
Though stymied by (what I believe to be) a brutal flu that left me largely unable to work for a couple of weeks (and unable to speak for most of that time), progress has still continued well in general.
However, we've been forced to increase the rate of our progress due to the fact that the topic for the next video has suddenly "gone hot" with new developments. Fortunately, this shouldn't delay the video at all, but it ...

Greetings Patrons,
Good progress has been made on both active projects while another potential topic has been identified as our next focus.
While DerEineSchwarzeRabe (DESR) continues to discover minutiae related to Project A for the sake of accuracy and thoroughness and chasing down information obscured by link rot, I've been writing the script and rewriting early sections to be more clear and concise. The foundation for this video is quite niche despite widespread knowledge of it...

Greetings, patrons.
With the new video being the first product of our new production pipeline, I and my team have agreed that monthly progress updates would probably work best to keep all of you apprised while not spamming you, and so we will be experimenting with this.
As you have likely noticed, the new Down the Rabbit Hole about Boatmurdered released earlier this month. This was a project that took approximately a month and a half to complete, with the mos...

I bring good news and bad news.
The good news is that the rough draft of the script for Project B is finally finished, with a word count of approximately 10,700, meaning that it will be about an hour long.
The bad news is that, because this video ended up being about twice as long as I initially anticipated, we will just barely miss our February deadline. Because of the nature of this video, however, we won't miss the deadline by much.
The music has been concepted as I've be...

Greetings. I'm happy to say that we've added another video to our production pipeline and we absolutely aren't overwhelming ourselves.
Joking aside, DerEineSchwarzeRabe is currently collating the last of the information we need for Project A, and so we've begun work on a new video, Project B, that I would like to use as our release for this month. The good news is that no research is required for Project B, given that I'm already quite familiar with the topic, and so I'...

Greetings again, all.
We're currently on track to begin our new plan of one video every two months starting in February, with Project A coming along well and the Foxhole video maintaining its current rate of progress. You can see below for further details.
Foxhole Video: More of the final music has been completed, with only a few more live instrumental tracks awaiting delivery. Ryan expects the music to all be completed this week, in time for him to begin work on ...

Greetings, I return to you all from the content mines with news of good progress. DerEineSchwarzeRabe has been performing with aplomb as the team's newest member, dredging up difficult-to-find information while I write the script for Project A. Also, I'm giving the new Warrens episode a final pass and should have it up on The Other Channel in the next few days. Below you will find video-specific updates:

Happy new year, one and all!
With my transatlantic move nearly completed, I've settled in nicely and can return to work in full. While I've been doing so, Arc and Ryan have both been hard at work at the animations and music respectively.
As I've highlighted in an earlier progress update, I'm changing my production methods to help the flow of production; as I've mentioned, I've brought on one more member, DerEineSchwarzeRabe, to help with research. (They've been responsible both fo...
