Missed it by that much.
Hello everyone! The good news is that the new Down the Rabbit Hole, clocking in at 90 minutes long, is currently in the video editing stage of production. The opening was particularly painful to edit due to so much of it being so conceptual, but now it's moving much faster as I'm entering the more concrete section, where I can literally show what I'm talking about.
The bad news is that we're going to miss our July release goal by what's looking to be a week or so, which is why I wanted this progress update out just a little earlier. This can largely be attributed to the fact that the video has proven to be a bit more complicated than I had anticipated. (This was originally meant to be a 30 minute jaunt before it tripled in size.) The orange track shows how much video editing has been completed (barring adding the zooms and a few fades in a few places), at about a third of the way through.
Most of the final music tracks have been completed and are in my hands, metaphorically speaking. Currently, I'm only awaiting section 1 and the credits track. All other assets have been completed, and DerEineSchwarzeRabe is halfway through timing the subtitles. Everything should be completed by the time I'm finished editing video.
The animations for the Foxhole video are unfortunately at a standstill while Arcaxon deals with (completely reasonable) personal issues, but should be back to work again properly soon. Depending on his speed, it's likely that we will have another video out between the current project and the Foxhole video.
Some more good news is that I've identified a topic that is practically perfect for Down the Rabbit Hole, and the first two books that will serve as the beginning of my research have arrived. Once I've read through them, I'll begin identifying other sources that would be useful. This new historical topic will be labeled Project E from now on.
As soon as DESR is finished with the subtitles, they'll begin their research into Project C to determine whether or not it will work as a topic, which may take a little bit of digging. If it proves to be unsuitable, then we'll scrap it and instead move to research Project D.
Research for the Power Rangers video is also planned to begin as soon as Project A is completed. I've confirmed this week that the people who offered to lend their assistance are still onboard for the project, and I'd like to at least begin the research process for this video sooner rather than later. If we work diligently, we may be able to time the release of the video with some very important developments with the franchise.
Right now, though, everything is on hold until Project A is finished and out the door. Wish us luck.
-Fredrik
