Progress Update: May 2025

Hello, everyone

What a fascinating month this has been.

Though stymied by (what I believe to be) a brutal flu that left me largely unable to work for a couple of weeks (and unable to speak for most of that time), progress has still continued well in general.

However, we've been forced to increase the rate of our progress due to the fact that the topic for the next video has suddenly "gone hot" with new developments. Fortunately, this shouldn't delay the video at all, but it does mean that this once-mostly-irrelevant topic has suddenly become more time-sensitive, and we'd like to have it ready sooner rather than later, as I believe it provides insight into a now-current topic. I've sworn off public timetables, but we are working overtime to have it ready as soon as possible.

Rough versions of the audio for the first half hour of the video have been sent to Ryan for scoring, and his progress has been steady; at this pace, it should be ready sometime during the editing phase.

While much of the first draft of the script is complete, it's required numerous revisions due to new discoveries in the research process; much is archived, but sifting through available information has been tedious and time-consuming, and context for some information has not been forthcoming. Still, we have plenty of primary sources and should have all that we need. DerEineSchwarzeRabe is still performing some research to verify what we believe we know and suss out a few more details, and then they will set to collecting video footage.

What was meant to be a relatively small escapade has turned into a full-on deep dive, but fortunately we're well-equipped for it. There's a lot of misinformation about the topic, and we hope we'll be able to clarify some of it.

In the meantime, a major blocker for the graphics for the Foxhole video has been overcome, meaning that already-complete animations are much closer to being finished.

While I was very much hoping to return to recording audiobooks this month, the flu destroyed my throat, and both my throat and sinuses are still recovering. As soon as I'm not sniffling through rough recording sessions, I would like to return to my once-a-week catchup release schedule.
