Progress Update: March 2025

With the new video being the first product of our new production pipeline, I and my team have agreed that monthly progress updates would probably work best to keep all of you apprised while not spamming you, and so we will be experimenting with this.
As you have likely noticed, the new Down the Rabbit Hole about Boatmurdered released earlier this month. This was a project that took approximately a month and a half to complete, with the most difficult part being the writing; it was a significant challenge to make Dwarf Fortress comprehensible to a lay audience, and some sections took a couple of rewrites.
The Boatmurdered video is the first to include official English subtitles made in-house, and all videos in the future are planned to be released with them as well.
Below, please find updated progress on the videos that we've been working on since the last progress update:
The Foxhole Video: A second animator has been brought in temporarily to help speed the animation process, and this has significantly increased production. Blocking of all animation for the first half of the video is completed as well as some final animation, while some of the smaller explanatory animations have been completed as well.
Project A: Research has mostly concluded, rough draft of first two sections of script completed, outline of script partially completed.
Project B: Boatmurdered, completed and released.
Power Rangers Video: No progress, awaiting resources.

I'm glad that this intention came across, it was intended to be a sort of return to form. I've been at this for nearly nine years and doing a smaller video like this was refreshing, plus they help us keep content output a bit more consistent while we make larger videos.

2025-03-31 17:45:01 +0000 UTCUltimately I think creators should make the things they want to make and let the audience appropriate for the project support it as they are willing & able to do so - that being said this does feel like a 'classic' rabbit hole video and it's exactly the kind of thing I'd prefer to see from this channel. Mega projects are all well and good but it's nice to have regular-ish content that's possible to throw on when you have an hour or so to spare and not have to plan an entire day around. I know I'm not saying anything new but 'short' videos are easier to watch, easier to re-watch, easier to recommend, easier to make, more stories get told etc etc.
