Recent times have been good. Sleep can be as bad as it ever has been but I hold on. In an effort to move forward with the new reality, I've submitted a request for the permission to work again part time. I require income and I feel it's the right move. The focus will be increasingly on being weird, recovering and protecting the thing I hold on to. Something small and warm has been found.

Ayken Portrait

A forest derg commission for Aurath, who is usually a raptor. A cute little portrait in between things! I spent a long time on finding a good facial angle for this one - almost as long as I did on the painting itself! Since the character has green accents / flesh, I figured I'd try out a green underpainting. All you're seeing here is one straightforward layer of colour applied on green ground. It's still easier to do than traditional painting, but restriction makes creative ^^

Ankhor Portrait

Portraits are wonderful opportunities to experiment. In this case, I had some difficulties. I began working on iPad in Webbypaint without much of an underdrawing, and most of my remaining time was spent transforming it again and again over the course of several weeks to try and find better colours, a better composition, better shapes. In some ways I feel like this diminished my confidence, but I still enjoyed the process and the end result. Thanks for your patience Noi!

Sunbath

Character's name is Eitan. Aapty wanted me to convey something he appreciates about the desert.  I got him to allow me a little bit of psychedelic free range, which is probably why this picture doesn't take realism very seriously. We talked a bit about this and that, Jerusalem and life and more. Joshua trees came up, so they're there too.

Prompt was showing off + simple foresty background. The situation in my mind was a sort of encounter-follow-me-thing. I knew I wanted to avoid being overly nsfw-forward. The first thing a Wolf-Dragon evokes in my mind is one of strength, wildness, the two species go kinda hand in hand; semi-mythical, Princess Mononoke vibes. It's straightforwardly artemisian. Losian Profile and other stuff

Recently, Losian approached me for a new profile picture. I included a WIP of that piece while it was being rendered. It comes along with a question though. What is it that makes a profile picture effective, as opposed to a regular portrait? Same as with stickers; it's the tiny format that totally changes stuff. I have an attitude of observing everything that fares well. Maybe it's random to a degree, but there's always a lesson to be learnt.

Dance Dance!

Wyrm approached me for a tarot-themed commission for his new bird character. I'm a bit of a purist, so we moved away from the need for a border and title - and toward a more individual portrait of his new phoenix-adjacent anthro bird!

The WolfP of Ussy

For Naantam ^^ I draw female characters and vagoons rather rarely. Two versions of this were created to accommodate the preferences of artist and client. The vibe of the picture came to me really spontaneously; i just wanted to do something unusual.

I kind of struggled between markings and lighting; should remember to start off with a flat base colour to reflect the former before I begin the latter. Yet, most times, I jump straight in with lighting. Oh well!
