Prostitute Dispute
Both women claim to be this baby's mother. In this part of the bible/video, only King Solomon is wise enough to determine who the real mother is.

King Solomon’s first chat with God occurs after Solomon sacrifices 1000 animals to Him, 1 Kings 3:4 (that’s the smaller of his sacrifices btw). At this point in my cartoon, the ancient version of PETA has something to say.

God goes full Negan in the next animation.

I had some difficulty with the voice acting of my next bible animation (King Solomon) due to an extremely sore throat that made me sound nothing like God and Jeffery (angel or Goldblum). I did, however, sound a bit like Morgan Freeman, so I wrote him into the script and did his lines before my throat got better. Now that I am sounding more normal, I think I can safely record God and Jeffery’s lines.
2016-11-13 00:22:38 +0000 UTC View PostI started working on an old school God & Jeffery comedic bible video. This one will deal with King Solomon (played by "Jeff Goldblum"), and how the bible treats "wisdom". It starts with 1 Kings 3, and goes on from there (not fully written yet), and will include all the pertinent verses as with my other bible videos.
Please let me know if you'd like to see more purely secular type videos like this, or if you'd like to see more on the topic of religion. Either way, I want my videos to be a positive force in the world, making people think and/or laugh in a meaningful way.
Despite the short length of this animation, it was very time-consuming to create, as there were many different settings and angles squeezed into it, all timed to the music. I hope you like it, but I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea. A...

This is a painting I did in oil on canvas, back in 2006, which found a nice place in my next animation. Nobody has seen it except for close friends and family. It's nice that it can finally be seen by more people. I'm glad that you're here to see it now.

This is the first frame of my next animation. Since this piece has no spoken words, I use the environment to help with the narrative. The neon sign has significance. The painting of the love birds has significance, as does the two missing tiles. The painting of the love birds is a real oil painting I did back in 2006. If you'd like a closer look at it, check out the post I'll upload immediately after this post.
I spent the last couple days designing buildings and constructing this city block for the final scene in my next animation. The close-ups in this animation aren't conducive to the simpler blocky buildings I usually use for more distant cityscapes, so I had to make more detailed buildings. I probably went a bit overboard on it, but that's how I am. A lot of times, I'll only need to construct what's in front of the camera, but for a scene like this, where there's many different camera angles, it's...

My next animation is well underway; this screencap is nearly halfway through the video. This will be another one of those animations that has a certain tone that I wish to end in a very specific way. As such, this will be one of those unique cases in which there will be nothing after the animation, no self-promotion or patron names. As with the last animation that required a special ending, called "This Video is a Universe", I will link to a list of your names, and my thanks, in the description ...

These are the characters for my next animation, called “Don’t Expect A Terrible Hereafter”. Can you find what's special about that title? Let me know if you figure it out. A friend of mine challenged me to make a meaningful video without a single line of dialogue, sort of like those Pixar shorts you see before the main feature (though the irony in mine will be more morbidly funny). So this one will have music only, but it will convey a story and hopefully leave an impression. As you know, ...

Human beings often unite during tragedies, foregoing our petty differences. Imagine if we didn’t require the tragedy.
While "crying wolf" is considered bad, the title of this video refers to what happened at Yellowstone, and in that light, the title's meaning is "always strive for balance". During my 40 years of life, I have learned that attaining balance is the greatest solver of problems. Be neither excessive nor neglectful. I believe that is a good rule for the macro as well, for soc...

This is the 3rd of 3 posts tonight. This is also the final image I'm posting before the video is finally done. This animation is turning out to be way more work than I thought it would be, but I am pleased with it. There is even potential for it to become a series if it does well.

This is the 2nd of 3 posts I'll be making tonight.
Some things now lurk in the city, making it unfit for human beings. This image is 1 of 3 posts I'm making tonight. These are my final posts before the video will be released, as it's almost done.
“We understood as much about them as a deer in the woods understands about a human being.” In this part of the animation, the deer is watching a human do something that it cannot possibly comprehend. That same thing will be done to us, and we, like the deer, will not understand. You will, though, because you’ll have me to explain as the narrator.
It takes two programs to make a scene like this. I drew and animated the deer using Moho, vector based animation. I created the forest ...

This ship will be in my next animation (the same one with the goldfinch). It took me a day to create. I constructed it using six basic shapes: cube, cylinder, sphere, cone, pyramid, and torus. I used boolean operations to make those into more complex shapes. I also created textures with bump map effects to give the illusion of more depth to the details. This ship is composed of 199,533 polygons.
I’ve been doing tons of research on animation techniques that I want to start incorporating. So far, I’ve had some success. In this short opening scene for my next animation, I used some new techniques on the bird. As you can see, it’s much better than my usual stuff. It was done completely from imagination (I used to bird watch when I was a kid) and took a few days from initial drawing to final animation. Also, the man was layered and rigged completely differently than characters I usuall...

This is the next animation of the "Power Corrupts" series, specifically Episode 8. There were so many technical difficulties in this one. I'm really glad I was able to finish it this month, but I almost couldn't. It required a lot of late night render sessions.
Like my previous animations, the title has a dual meaning. In this animation, there is a parallel between escaping from dogma and escaping from the simulation. As you can see at the end, Jeffery's "escape" might not be certain.
Jeffery is out of Yahweh's universe, and he shares his experience with the world, but Yahweh isn't done with him - or the world...yet. I'm hoping this animation will be ready in August. Then, I plan to resume work on "Harvest of Useful Idiots" and an unrelated comedy short.
The animation I have been working on, called “Harvest of Useful Idiots”, is way too big to finish anytime soon. That is looking like an eighteen minute animation, my longest ever, which requires me to draw and animate an enormous amount of assets. I hope to finish it in September. I don't want my channel to remain inactive until then, so I decided to work on other animations while continuing work on "Harvest of Useful Idiots" on the side.
I recently had two surgeries on my back to rem...

It is said our woes end there, so we remain ever vigilant for that tower upon the horizon. The vehicle is religious, but the passenger is political, taking us all for a ride. Please forgive my intentional vagueness, but I don't want to give away too much. Though this animation will be unique, it will also maintain the general theme of my channel, so I think you'll like it.
As you may have read in my last post, I wrote a short story that I've been thinking of converting into an animation. This image is my first foray into that endeavor.
There's a civilization that is based on reaching something ("something" is all I'll say about that for now), and their entire sense of worth corresponds to the progress toward that single goal. Stopping is anathema. Moving ever forward is paramount. Throughout the centuries, this ideal leads to the gradual development of a ma...
2016-08-09 17:07:51 +0000 UTC View PostI wrote a short story called “Harvest of Useful Idiots” that might result in a really great animation, or it could be awful. It’s hard to tell at this stage. I like the story, but it’s four full pages of narration (think around 12 minutes of YouTube real estate), and I’m very afraid of it dragging for some people in its video form. The payoff could be well worth the pace, however, as the end is strong and unexpected. The internet is fickle, though. This isn’t some movie, where you bu...

Thanks for your ideas and encouragement. Some of you gave me some good ideas, which I gladly used in the animation (Eric Sage gave me some funny ideas regarding the mask). An ex-Muslim, IntrovertedSmiles, helped me with the verses, and I wanted to give him a shout out at the end of the video. I didn't include your names at the end of this one, as this one is quite different than my usual stuff, and I didn't want to step on any toes. If I establish myself as someone who does make more videos like...

I had an idea for a funny cartoon. It is not my desire to offend a lot of people, but I suspect that will happen if I make this thing. The question is, should I let that affect what I think should be said? No. I don’t think it should. Of course you might be wondering why I would even entertain such a question, as I have offended people before, but this time offense may reach across the aisle, affecting the Left and the Right, the theist and the atheist. For this reason, I probably won’t put ...

It’s finally done! This is probably one of my most “cinematic” animations to date. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I hope you are as well. Prepare for multiple dramatic twists at the end. I think a lot of religious people understand that people (subconsciously or not) use the name of God to promote their own opinions and ideals, to lend themselves an air of authority. Sadly, they’ll realize this, but then turn to their holy texts for answers, holy texts that were written b...
