I got a Princess Trainer Gold Edition build to test. I got done with all urgent work. I turned off all connection means to outer world. I sat to play... and I collapsed with an illness!

The technical part (the mini-game itself, and all of the interfaces with backgrounds and icons) is completely finished! After some minor tweeks we could give you the test version by tomorrow.

Honestly, I like that some scenes in the game were given through text and screen lighting. The lack of literal illustrations stimulated imagination, making the pictures in your head most vivid.
But as an artist I always wanted at least sketch up some game moments. That's what I'm doing now as I replay the game.

"To be fucking with something" also has a second meaning in Russian: "to work hard at something". But I guess you get it without these explanations.
You know, I don't like minigames. Yes, they spice up the gameplay, but they often ruin it. You came to play an RPG, and you have to play MTG or you don't get a 100% completion, etc. But reasonable and moderate minigames bring variety.
And I think me and Xaljio took a sensible approach in Iris Quest.

The first concept sketch for the tavern interior in Iris Quest. The tavern is supposed to be a temple of sin, a lair of kinky secrets... Like every other location in game, however.
According to the lore, dianoga eats inorganic trash. According to the story, Phasma was dumped into a trash collector. Chromed plastic makes great inorganic trash. 2+2, and we get a great picture idea.

Speaking of interesting work, I cannot miss my job at the oldest Russian games magazine, Game World Navigator (nim.ru). I work there since 1997 (18 years of work record! As you may know, in Soviet Russia it's Grandpa Frost and his granddaughter, the Snow Maiden, that bring children their gifts on New Year's eve. The Snow Maiden's a wonderful image. It really helps with the New Year greetings from Russian strippers and game designers who feature female characters in their games, while many cultures have to be content with just drawing on a red cap.

Drawing game items is a common commission thing. But they're usually boring! Armor +10, Sword +5, red healing potion, blue mana potion. And this time, working on looks and description was so much fun!
