Speaking of interesting work, I cannot miss my job at the oldest Russian games magazine, Game World Navigator (nim.ru). I work there since 1997 (18 years of work record! I can fuck it, it's legal aged!). It published both my comic series, Men of Thursday and Sex, Violence and Rock&Roll (all words, save for 'Men', are character names), of which I'll tell you someday. And of course for all these years a lot of interesting stuff happened to me.
Much of that is the fault of my old friend, and one of the best editors I worked with, Constantine C. Podstreshny. He has a "wonderful" quality. He doesn't take no for an answer when talking about the possibility of doing something. And is often right.
Once he came up with the idea of a magazine poster with ALL cool game chars that existed by then (2005) on PC (we were a PC-only mag back then).
The work took half a year. All the editorial staff compiled the games list, made small puns and jokes, gathered materials which often required installing games and going till the required scene.
Since then I expanded the poster three times, adding new chars. In 2008, 2010 and, now, in 2015.
Each time I swore a deadly oath to never touch it again!
And each time this guy somehow persuaded me to come back to it!
To tell the truth, with each time the work became easier. All the screenshots and walkthroughs could be found on the internet, and I switched from Photoshop to much more convenient Clip Studio Paint. Adding 60 more chars (the magazine became multi-platform, and console heroes were added) took just a month of easy work, and most of that was filling the list.
Megaposter, as it became known as, gained a lot of fame. I saw it on many Russian and foreign sites, where people did their best to guess all the games.
Here for the first time I upload its last (I hope) version. One from 2015. Enjoy.
