You know, I don't like minigames. Yes, they spice up the gameplay, but they often ruin it. You came to play an RPG, and you have to play MTG or you don't get a 100% completion, etc. But reasonable and moderate minigames bring variety.
And I think me and Xaljio took a sensible approach in Iris Quest.
Dice were a minigame in Princess Trainer and we decided to keep it. But making something interesting depend on a totally random game was not a very possible task. We took some effort and came up with the right stuff, as it seems.
Not making the rules much harder (a draft pic in the header may look complex, but it's not as scary as it seems) we let the player control the chaos of randomly rolling dice! And we can make more interesting things, than a couple coins, depend on it... And so we will!
At the moment our tech department (1 man) and art department (1 man) of our game mega studio are working hard on the test demo of dice minigame for our beloved patrons.
The demo will include:
1) The gameplay itself;
2) A girl looking like Shantae;
3) Some story dialogue;
4) Like five art pieces for loading screens.
We plan to finish it till next weekend.
But it will be hard, there's a lot of work to do left.
If we manage to do this in time, my dear patrons, we put up the demo in the next (after this) weekend. And wait for your comments and suggestions.
If not, by that weekend we publish a report of what is done, and when will it be finished.
Just like that.
Thanks for your attention and stay tuned.
