Censorship, Firings and Addiction - The Rise and Fall of Microsoft Solitaire | Kim Justice

A look back at one of the most controversial games of all-time...Microsoft Solitaire. People in government tried to ban it. Many a person got fired from their job over it, and it started the whole conversation about computer addiction. Not bad for a little card game created by a summer intern. Enjoy!

The Return of the Backyard Wrestling Video!

Hey y'all. I thought I'd finally put this back up for you - the vid all about those Backyard Wrestling PS2 games, complete with schlocky videos and the Insane Clown Posse -- alas it's time on YouTube was somewhat shortlived. I'll eventually try and put a sanitised version of it back up, I guess -- but here's the original as a Patreon exclusive. Hope you enjoy!

The return of Requests and Games on YOUR Doorstep

Hey y'all! I have a quick little update for you...a few months ago I decided to stop a couple of this Patreon's popular tiers -- the review request tier, and the Speccy game every month tier. I don't really want to go into why -- I kinda felt I had to do it at the time...but, things are better now, I've had a think, and I've decided to bring them back! They'll be working a lil' bit differently, mind.

The request tier is the one that's most exciting -- it used to be a monthly thing, whic...

The Story and Games of Matthew Smith | Kim Justice

Finally, a big look at one of the UK's greatest and most enigmatic coders -- the man behind Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy...it's the story of Matthew Smith. Not the most uplifting of stories perhaps, but it's certainly a wild ride. Enjoy!

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Review | Another Terrible Spectrum Licensed Game | Kim Justice

Tynesoft, those strange folk responsible for Super Gran, get a license for a show based largely around Geordies abroad. It should be a slam dunk, but instead they manage to create a game so bloody awful, it makes Super Gran look good.

SNOOKER 19 Review | A Modern Snooker Game That's Worth Playing? | Kim Justice

It's a lil' review of Snooker 19! The first actual licensed snooker game in...well, a long time. I enjoyed it when I played it at Rezzed, but now I've got a copy for myself it's time to see if it's actually worth playing proper. Enjoy!

Is The Legend of Zelda Still Worth Playing Today? - Kim Justice

Up one whole week early for Patrons, here's my latest...and as you can see, it's on quite an obscure subject. I really got an urge to educate myself and play through the original Legend of Zelda recently, and I decided to record it and share my thoughts. This might seem like a question with an obvious answer, but it's a series I really don't have much experience with...so what do I think of this classic, era-defining monolith of a game? Let's find out! Enjoy.

Fun at the Cambridge Computer Museum Retro Video Game Night! - Kim Justice

A couple of weeks ago I went off to Cambridge for another Retro Video Game Night and bought my camera with me. So, here's another load of stuff I filmed, complete with closer looks at some of the really cool stuff they have there and some good laughs with Quang and Bex (Nostalgia Nerd and Octy were there too but I was too drunk to film them...) - Enjoy!

ICP, TRASHY TAPES AND PS2 GAMES: HOW DID BACKYARD WRESTLING BECOME A CRAZE? | Kim Justice

So I've wanted to look at these two PS2 Backyard Wrestling games for a while, but I kind of also wanted to look at why they even exist in the first place. So here's a look at not just them, but the whole Backyard Wrestling craze of the late 90's-early 2000's, featuring clowns from Detroit, people hurting themselves and a load of unbelievably popular trashy video tapes. Enjoy!

(I've muted the bloody sound on the intro by mistake, which is annoying)

EUGENE EVANS, IMAGINE AND THE BIRTH OF THE BEDROOM CODER DREAM | Kim Justice

Just how did the image of the "bedroom coder" get started? The truth is a little more engineered and PR-driven than you think. This video examines the story of Eugene Evans and his brief period of fame as Imagine's 16-year old programming wunderkind who earned 35k a year, under the careful eye of a certain Mr. Bruce Everiss. Enjoy!

Also featuring the dulcet tones of good old Stuart Ashen, playing the role of Bruciebabie.

THE STORY BEHIND CRAZYBUS, ITS FAME AND ITS SEQUEL | Kim Justice

A new video! Fresh out the oven, ready for release next Monday. Yes, it's CrazyBus. That PD Sega game with the horrid music that many folk have raged at over the years...but I kinda wanted to look into this bit of gaming weirdness further, and in doing so found some fun stuff to share. So enjoy!

The Awful Highlander Game and the Tragedy of Canvas Software | Kim Justice

NEW Video time! And this one...well, it was kinda supposed to be a light affair. It didn't quite turn out that way. A look into a popular legend about a game being purposefully made bad turns into a rather dark story about the consequences of failure in the 80's computer games industry. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!!!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to come at you all with a quick Christmas message :) thanks to all of you for supporting me over the past year, or for however long you've been here - it genuinely means a massive amount of me, especially as it has in many ways been quite a tricky 12 months with all sorts of issues and problems to deal with...I think though, as we reach the end of the year, things are getting very much back on track - and there's way too many people really to thank for that happ...

SUPER GRAN: From Baffling TV Show to the Worst Licensed Game

It's the last video of the year! And to finish off, we have a look at Super Gran. The show itself was certainly weird enough to warrant a video, but Tynesoft then had to go and produce a licensed game that frankly, is the worst ever made. No contest.

#ThankYouPatrons

I wish I had something more special lined up for this! Patreon have officially dubbed this the day for the #ThankYouPatrons hashtag to be plastered all over social media. Corny as that may be, one thing is pretty certain - Patreon has been an absolute godsend to myself as a creator, and without it there's no way on earth that I'd be able to do what I do for a living, which I have done now for 2 and a 1/2 years. For any of the faults that there have been at points, it's a hell of a more stable re...
