Comment Future Maps!

I'm looking to hear what kind of maps people want to see in the future! Feel free to comment any ideas you have and I may pick some to make for future uploads :) If I see a lot of people liking any particular posts, I'll give those suggestions more attention.

*Disclaimer: I don't have too many sci fi or modern themed assets. Generally any previously produced maps are a good reference for what's possible

Mage Guild (40x40)

I haven't made too many magic themed maps, so this time I made a mage guild, or perhaps a small college

Nestled in the heart of the bustling city, a mage guild stands as a beacon of arcane knowledge and sanctuary. Its grand chamber is adorned with intricate runes, where magic crackles in the air. Within, adept practitioners hone their craft and councils deliberate matters of import.

Past this cha...

Grotto Camp (30x40)

This next map details a camp built in the safety of a grotto.

As you venture deeper into the cavern's shadowy embrace, the faint murmur of cascading water grows louder, echoing off the damp walls.  High above, a narrow fissure in the rocky ceiling allows slivers of sunlight to pierce through, casting ethereal beams that dance upon the rugged terrain below.

The cavern's heart is dominated by a roaring waterfall, its...

Abandoned Temple (30x45)

Hello everyone!

This map features an abandoned temple built in the scenic mountains, with a cascading river passing through it. The two great braziers at the entrance have been unlit as some of the stone begins to crumble and the plants grow unchecked with the absence of its inhabitants.

Some ideas for this map:

Here, monks were dedicated to their studies and relationship with nature. Perhaps they used to worship a fantastical beast that once guarded the forest, but it...

Future Adventure Guides?

The previous post of the Bandit Hideout included an example of potential future adventure guides. I was curious to know if anyone would be interested in having more of these in the future. Perhaps a future tier? Let me know what you think!

Underground Hideout (20x30) + Adventure Guide

Hello everyone!

We are close to 500 patrons, which is very exciting! For this map, I wanted to tease a potential future option (new tier?) that would include adventure guides. I'll make a poll about it later~

This map is a bandit hideout hidden in a cave, with an underwater river coursing through the center of it. The idea is bandits have raided caravans traveling in the region (a great use of the previous Caravan map). Afterwards, they bring the stolen merchandise to this hideo...

Shopping District [40x30]

Our next map is perfect for players needing to run errands throughout the city.  With an array of storefronts lining the streets, there's something to captivate every passing traveler. From armor and weaponry to potions and poisons, from books and scrolls to musical instruments and exquisite clothing, the options for purchase are diverse and abundant. Additionally, two distinct taverns cater to varying crowds, depending on the weight of one's coin purse. As the day winds down and fatigue...

Tourney [40x55]

This next map is of the annual tourney held in the region, an eagerly anticipated event rich with entertainment. Merchants adorn the grounds with their colorful tents, offering an array of wares, drinks, and delectable foodstuffs. Bards, acrobats, and magicians captivate the audience with their mesmerizing performances. Amidst the festival atmosphere, small games such as apple bobbing, ring tosses, and card matches sprinkle the grounds with excitement and camaraderie.

The ultimate attra...

Fort Stonewall [50x35]

Our next map details a sturdy fortress positioned strategically near a key trade route. It primarily serves as a shelter for guards due to its remote location, but can also function as a stronghold to protect valuable treasures.

Nestled within the initial perimeter wall, there are stables for horses used mainly by patrols, but officers can also use them to quickly alert neighboring forts during crises

The interior includes sleeping quarters for guards and a few spare rooms for s...

Caravan

Our next map is a simple but versatile map of a caravan setting up camp in a small clearing along the road.  Weary merchants lay out bedrolls and stoke a couple fires while their horses graze on grass.

For higher tiers, there are variants of a destroyed variant of the camp. Perhaps bandits attack during the night ⸺ or worse, a dragon! There is also an alternate map of just the clearing, which can be used for various encounters.

Ancient Tomb Dungeon [50x32]

Hey everyone, we are finally back to posting! Nothing better to get back into things than a classic dungeon crawl.

This tomb belonged to an ancient civilization. Just inside, there are recent remnants of activity in the form of a couple bedrolls and a smoldering campfire. Perhaps there are bandits looting the tomb of burial trinkets and gold, or maybe there are a couple of researchers exploring the depths of this lost crypt. Exploring more of the tomb will reveal hallways and rooms fil...

Dragon Lair

I took a small break from the Brightwater city to work on some cave maps. In this set, I decided to do some simple dragon lair maps for the chromatic dragons.

  • The Green dragon features sprawling vines, poisonous mushrooms, and a suspicious fairy circle.
  • The Black dragon protects its lair with thorny brambles, putrid water, and tar pits. Skeletons decompose from harsh acid within mud.
  • The White dragon favors desolate, snowy tunnels. Remains of its prey are f...

BRIGHTWATER - Part 2 Docks [35x30]

Our next part of Brightwater takes us to the docks. Found here are a couple warehouses for storing crates and barrels. There are also fish mongers preparing and preserving their catches. Other occupations include a boat carpenter and craftsman making ropes and nets. There is also a shady gambling den with few beds to rent upstairs.

**As a small disclaimer, I will be on and off with traveling and ...

BRIGHTWATER - Part 1

Hello all!

After the poll, I see the majority vote is a preference towards a seamless, fully mapped city. I'll take a swing at doing this, but maybe in the future I'll try out the isometric with key locations mapped out (this would make things like maps of full castles, cathedrals, etc easier).

This is the first of a 4 Part canal city. My goal with this is to slightly compromise some of the poll by having each "part" map work as a standalone map. These maps could then work toge...

Which city map style do you prefer?

OPTION 1: Isometric map of city with smaller maps of select locations

PRO:

  • Could allow for "bigger" overall city
  • Potentially faster map release
  • Bigger buildings with more rooms

CON:

  • Not seamless
  • Not all of city is mapped (could have additional generic alleys, road crossings, etc)

Dwarven Mine [60x50]

Howdy everyone! Our next map features a dwarven mine set in a volcanic mountainside. There are various chambers dedicated to sleeping quarters and even a large bathing room to soak after arduous days mining. A large dining hall serves as the main gathering location for meetings and feasts. A small jail holds those caught attempting to steal or exploit the dwarves of their gold. A throne room and an adjacent bedroom belong to the governing leader of this guild of miners.

The mines are ...

Vampire Estate

Here's the last map wrapping up October. It features a vampire estate, one of the contest winners!

Three buildings exist within the gated estate: a stables, a shed, and the main manor.

The manor has an entrance hall that splits into two halls, two staircases, and a set of double doors. The eastern hall leads to a laundry room with a linen closet, an office, and the library. The western hall leads to a prayer room, the kitchen with its pantry, and a lounge with attached bedrooms...

Witch House and Extradimensional Tower

The winner of the Spooky Contest was the witch tower! I was happy with the participation, so I made this a two-part map: the witch's house and the witch's extradimensional tower.

THE HOUSE

Deep in the woods, a witch has renovated an old mill into a quaint bed and breakfast. Under the guise of a simple old lady, she welcomes travelers with a sickly sweet hospitality, offering them free lodging and food. Another adventurer has decided to rest here w...

Multiple choice is okay! If you like a suggested comment, give it a heart and I'll count it.

Hey everyone! I'll be doing a couple polls to increase interaction and figure out what maps you want to see.

Stronghold [45x70]

Our next map features a stronghold. It features two portcullises at the entrance, which is defended by two ballistae. Just past the gates are buildings for food preparation, a small study, a stable, an infirmary, a toilet, a warehouse, sleeping quarters, and a blacksmith. Further inside, there is another gate blocking the entrance to the inner bailey, protecting a modest residence of a small noble family. Inside its great hall, the head of the house receives guests making petitions.

Prison

This next map is a dungeon sprawl, as we haven't done one in a while!

This map is themed as a prison under the management of a cult. The starting location is in the bottom center of the map. From there, there are several paths and intersections players can choose explore. The final destination is the prison, where hanging cages and cells hold captives that are tortured by the cult members. If they are unlucky, they are ritually sacrificed to the evil deity the cult worships.

War Camp

Our next map features a war camp built on a rocky slope. A palisade wall encompasses the camp, with various lookout towers lining it. Along the base of the hill, trenches were dug and lined with sharpened wood spikes to provide extra defense. The camp features numerous tents for sleeping soldiers as well as slightly larger tents for officers. Braziers and small fires are dotted throughout the camp to provide light and warmth.

The large striped tent near the south entrance acts as a din...

Lighthouse and Shipwrecks

This week's map features a lighthouse that is no longer functional, causing ships to be destroyed along the rocky reefs. Pictured here are just two of many ships that have been ravaged by the coast. The merchants and sailors of this region are desperate to have the lighthouse restored, but they cannot access the tower due to the broken bridge. They also are not well equipped to defend against whatever threat looms in the tower. There may be potential creatures hiding within the wreckage as we...

Church and Graveyard

Our next map features a graveyard just outside of a church. The graveyard has a unique concentric layout, with a statue at its center. A couple mausoleums of wealthier individuals are rested atop hills. The church here provides funeral processions in addition to religious ceremonies. Some of responsibilities of the monks include cultivating flowers, constructing coffins, and carving headstones.

Village Lodge

Continuing from our village, we have a large building dedicated to warriors and hunters.

A brawling pit is found just inside the entrance, to settle disputes and to spar for victory. An armory is nearby to provide weapons for fights, while a bathroom offers the opportunity to wash away dirt and blood.  An infirmary provides care for wounds, and severely injured patients are monitored in separate bed chambers. An office conducts business matters, including tracking finances and mana...

Waterfall Village

Our next map features an extension of our previous Seaside Village map, part of a series were are doing.

In this picturesque map, a serene waterfall divides the village, connected by a rustic wooden bridge. A small farm offers fresh produce, while a skilled basket weaver creates intricate crafts. At the heart of the community, a simple water fountain serves as a gathering spot. Colorful tarps provide protection and add vibrancy to the surroundings.

Sea Village

Our next map features a village perched along a seaside cliff. A dirt road runs through the village, lined on both sides with various booths selling food and goods. Towers grant access to the docks below, busy with dockworkers unloading precious crates, while meticulous scribes meticulously document each shipment with a quill and ink.

Floating Village

Nearby to the Flying Castle, adventurers can find other floating islands, some of which are populated by small villages. These villages frequently welcome new travelers who are weary after their voyage, offering them a place to eat and rest in their tavern. Also featured in this village is a small watermill that processes wheat grown either elsewhere on the island or imported by ships.
