Once the proof has been approved by the project director, the art director then finishes the character illustration.
However, the CG is still far from complete, as the background artist as well as the touch up artist must still do their parts.

Once the storyboard is done, usually the art director will create a rough sketch of what the game asset will look like. The art director can change whatever she feels like from the story board to improve it.
The proof is then sent to the overall project director for approval.

The first step to making a still CG is to concept out the storyboards for the scene.
Even though it looks easy for anyone to do, story boarding is still deceptively difficult, as we must decide the general camera angle, what kind of camera lens to use, and make sure the subject matter fills enough of the screen and isn't obscured by parts of the UI.

To handle the extra art burden of a massive project like Starnova, we've hired a new artist to handle some of the art.
These are very early stage concept images of side characters in the game made by our new artist. Quick sketches are used to just decide the basic idea before the art director commits to a character's appearance.

We're still in the middle of making the clothing for the characters. So far, panties and swimsuits are done, but we still have a long road ahead. I think it'll take 40 more days to complete the clothes.
