I actually increased the waist measurement by 14 cm because that is the waist measurement at the location where I want the waistband to sit, which is 4 cm below the narrowest level. Now the waistband is too loose. Probably 5 to 7 cm waist ease is suffice, or none at all if you want to waistband to sit high up.

Instruction from Armstrong “all around pleated skirt” (p323).
This is the simplest pattern ever. It is literally just a rectangle.
There is a pleat tool in Clo, but I do it manually.
This is the old-school textbook way of doing pleated skirt, which start with hip measurement, then adjust the waistline to fit the smaller waist. I watch many YouTube videos where they only use the waist measurement, and the plea...

This is a big failure, I cannot fit the pants to the manikin. Technically, the fit is perfect but I failed to consider the proper waist closure. It will work if the crotch zipper open into the waistline, but it is not. To fix this, the waistband when stretched should be larger than the hip so that the pants can slide into.
Anyway, an important lesson learnt. And I learn to work with custom length zipper too.
All the original files available in the attachment. I have not fix it, th...

I should have finish sewing the cargo pants by today for unfortunately for the past two days I've been troubleshooting my sewing machine, which have 'skip stiches' problem. I tried adjusting the thread and bobbin tension but to no avail. I'll head out later today to buy different size needles hopefully that will solve it. If not, I'll watch some more troubleshooting tutorials in case I miss anything. Last resort I have to use my mom's sewing machine and move on to the next project.

Since actual sewing is taking a lot of time, I'll be posting more quick and simple post like this to make up for the lack of content. Just to let you guys know what's up.
I bought a lot of different size zippers, but they never seem to fit correctly. Many time I need to adjust my pattern according to the zipper I have or need to buy a new one. So today I finally decide to work with custom length zipper (zipper by the yard). I watched some tutorials and by the end of the day I'll decide ...

Timelapse video available here.
Before starting, I adjusted the initial draft to use 4.8 cm height waistband instead of 4 cm.
I already do the detailing in Clo first so I already have the general Idea what to do in Style3D. Else, this recording will take 4 times longer. I also cut out part of the recording where I look for trims matching the reference garment. Still, I can't find the exact one.
I spend a lo...

We can start with any basic woven trouser blocks. All waist dart/pleats are removed because we are using elasticated waistband. Then taper and trim the hem as desired.

This is the tutorial I followed. Following his recommendation, I bought a 'walking foot', which help a lot to sew knit, especially with the very flimsy fabric that I use. I use it with double needle to sew the neckline and hem. I use overlock machine to sew the rest.
Somehow it looks like a normal T-shirt instead...

Just changing the fabric and textures.
A good way to add the stripes in my opinion is to edit the albedo/diffuse textures. You can use any image editing software, but I like to Material Maker because it makes seamless textures. This is my graph.
I then overlay the generated textures over the original Clo fabric texture usin...

A quick an easy draft. I can't believe I have not made this sooner given that it is the most popular modern garment.
Instruction is based on the combination of Cole and ESMOD. But this is so simple you can just modify any basic body block to get the same thing.

I'm way behind schedule with this one, almost a month since the last post. But I go all out this time. I sew all the pockets and zippers.
Obviously, I did not use leather. The pattern is for woven fabric. From the videos I saw on YouTube, leather garment uses a lot of glue, so the cutting and seam allowance should be different.
Very difficult to sew especially the zipper cuff with gusset. I have no idea how to sew it properly, so the finishing is very rough.
Overall, I'm sat...

3 hours long, half of it just troubleshooting. Perhaps, a timelapse is more useful.
To summarize, I add all the details like zippers and pockets. The back actually has a pleat/flange which is hard to notice so maybe it is better to skip it. The rest is just routine like changing fabric, topstitch, puckering and adjusting the seam type.
I also add shoulder pad to make the shoulder more pronounce. If I'm to do this...
