Hey all,
I just released a new video over on my other channel, The Beat Goes On. Go check it out!
I have a feeling most of you have already seen this movie, however. :)
In other news, I am livestreaming some time tomorrow afternoon on the Mr. Beat channel. The topic is a Tier List for every Vice President in American history. It should be fun!
Thanks for your continued support!

I don't expect this video to do as well as my other recent ones, but I think it turned out better than all of them. It's one of my personal favorites that I've made this year.
Also, it's another collaboration. Yay! It's with a nice person I met three years ago at a YouTube event. His name is Patrick Kelly, and he recently started a medical history channel called
Patrick Kelly. Check it out and subscribe!

This one will hopefully go public tomorrow. I am still waiting on sponsor approval.
But yeah, anyway...Compared returns! Hardly anyone requested these two cities, but I think it's fascinating to look at their similarities and differences.
Thank you for your continued support.

I first put this on my list of videos to make back in 2015! Glad I finally got to make it. It's a topic that has always fascinated me, and after that recent JFK-Lincoln Coincidences video, a lot of folks asked about this one.
For those who enjoy my Supreme Court Briefs series, don't worry- it's making a return in a couple weeks. I have two new episodes already written, and they will be released over the next couple of months.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one, and thank you ...

Hey there, so it's another epic President video. Once again, I got carried away with this one. Regardless, I hope you dig it!
Thanks to all of you for your continued support.

I've wanted to make this video for awhile, as I've been fascinated by the phenomenon of Japanese longevity since I was a kid. And then comes along a perfect sponsor for the video! It feels like a lot came together at the right moment for this one. :)
I'm taking next Friday off since Mrs. Beat and I are going on a bike trip for the weekend, but I do plan on a livestream next Sunday night looking at how I would vote in every presidential election in American history before 2000.&nbs...

All these are 100% true? If so, are they really a big deal?
1. Both men were elected to congress in ’46 (Lincoln in 1846, Kennedy in 1946)
2. Both men were elected to the presidency in ’60 (Lincoln in 1860, Kennedy in 1960)
3. Both men were concerned with civil rights (Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Kennedy proposed what became the Civil Rights Act)
4. Both men married in their 30s to women in their 20s
5. Both men lost a son while living in th...

I worked while working to make this video.
Everything I said at the end of the video is true. I love my jobs. All of them. And YOU are a big reason why.
The pandemic will be over soon. I hope you all are continuing to stay safe and healthy. Thank you for your continued support.
So what do you think? Should we normalize a 30-hour work week?

While these are just are my opinion, many historians probably agree with my top 5 especially.
Many of you requested this one, and here it finally is! Who are YOUR favorite Supreme Court justices? Were there any surprises on my list?

This was a collaboration with Geography Joe. Be sure to check out his channel as well when you get a chance. :)
It's the two crossroads states. Both really in the middle of it all.
Also, unbelievably, these are two states I haven't visited, although I did get close to Cincinnati once. I think they are both underrated as heck. Anyone on here from one of these two states? I mean, I'm pretty sure I have patrons from both, but just wanted to hear from you!
Thanks for your ...

We are all guilty of using logical fallacies, but the less we use them, the better our lives will be. In this video, I use an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, featuring guest Ben Shapiro, as an opportunity to teach about logical fallacies.
I will probably get crap for criticizing Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro. I will also probably get crap for saying I am a fan of Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro. And so it goes.
Regardless, I continue to appreciate your ongoing support. I hope you...

I'm a big fan of South Korea, in case you hadn't picked up on it by now, but researching for this video gave me a new found appreciation of the North Korean people. That said, it was very, very difficult for me to paint North Korea in a positive light in this video, probably for obvious reasons. So yeah, it's my most lopsided Compared episode yet. Ultimately, we must celebrate the people, but be concerned about the circumstances of the people. North Korea has a ruthless dictator/oligarchy and...

Here is a new video on my other channel, The Beat Goes On. It's the story of the highest-selling female musical group of all time, the Supremes. While I made it, Mary Wilson died. Wilson was the only one with the group basically the entire time of its existence. I dedicate this video to her and her family.

First of all, thank you so much to all of you this past week. I've got a bunch of new Patreon support this week, and honestly it has been overwhelming. It is inspiring me to do even more with this channel. I have some big plans for later this year, and you all are making this possible. I cannot thank you enough.
But yeah, here is my Donald Trump song. I now have songs about all of the Presidents, and will make the Biden song after he's out of office, of course. If you want to down...

I had to re-upload since I had a typo. Shout out to Cal for noticing it!
Anyway, I am taking the other video down here shortly. If you could pretty please like this new video if you liked the old video, that would be terrific. Also, some of you added comments on the old video, so if you want to transfer those as well, I would greatly appreciate it.
One other thing- you will only be able to watch this until tomorrow night. After that, I am making it visible as a "premiere" to...

Supreme Court Briefs returns! Yayness!
This is a case I first learned about as an undergrad in college, but I didn't truly appreciate it until much more recently. The Lemon Test seems to not be that popular anymore among current justices, but what do you think?
That line between church and state can be so difficult to find.
Thanks for your continued support.

Rarely do I spend so much time researching for a video as I did for this video. I literally read books for this one, folks. Hey don't laugh at me. It's a big deal for me to read books anymore. But yeah, this one unexpectedly turned out to be epic. I used to be biased against Soros when I was younger, but after making this video about him, I'm just...indifferent.

After researching these two states, I kind of want to move to both of them. Great places! And both very similar in many ways. I hope you enjoy!
Just an FYI- the next Compared video is looking to be North Korea vs. South Korea. It should be...interesting...to say the least.
Thank you so much for your continued support. It means so much!

Thanks to Patreon supporter Bradley Pool for suggesting this video. Please message me to follow up about a suggestion you've made in the past if you are in the $15 tier or higher. I'll admit, I've been bad about keeping up with those lately, and I really apologize. I wish I had more time to someday release two videos a week, or at least six videos a month.
Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe out there!

This is the longest video I have ever edited since my Alaska road trip documentary, which I made in 2011 (not counting livestreams, of course). Needless to say, this one got crazy, and it could have gotten even crazier since there are a bunch of accomplishments by many of the Presidents' children that I left out.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year! I have big plans for 2021. In fact, there will likely (hopefully) be a new chapter on the horizon for me this year, and your support...

Did you know that as late as 1965 birth control used to be illegal in parts of the United States? This episode looks at how birth control became legal and how the Supreme Court expanded our right to privacy.
I know it won't do well, but I look forward to playing this one for my students in real life. It's a landmark case!
Thank you for your continued support.

I had multiple Patreon supporters request this one, and this ended up being my longest and most epic Compared episode yet. To be honest, it could have easily ended up being twice as long.
Be sure to also check out and subscribe to Tim Betts' new channel, Drawn of History. This was another collaboration with him. Here is his video about the War of 1812: https://www.youtube.com/watch...

If I had more time, I'd go after PragerU more often. I'll never forget stumbling upon them as a fifth-year teacher thinking they had legitimate educational videos. That's my biggest gripe with them- they pretend they are not propaganda, and now they are trying to get into school curriculums across the country.
Anyway, it was great to work with Define American for this one. They helped a lot. It actually looks like a professional video. lol

I started this list around four years ago. I remember it was right around Election Day 2016. I'm so happy I finally got to make this video. If you have requested a video topic, I plan on releasing a handful of them over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for them.
Thank you for your continued support! I hope you all are staying safe and healthy.

This one was fun. It took a long time, though. I actually spent MORE than two weeks taking the test when I had a free moment for each of the 44 Presidents. The results were somewhat surprising. Let me know what you thought!
