Idaho and Montana Compared

After researching these two states, I kind of want to move to both of them. Great places! And both very similar in many ways. I hope you enjoy!

Just an FYI- the next Compared video is looking to be North Korea vs. South Korea. It should be...interesting...to say the least.

Thank you so much for your continued support. It means so much!

Fun fact- Glacier National Park is 1583 square miles, which is bigger than the entire state Rhode Island and then some. (Rhode Island is 1212 square miles)

Dang, most of this should have been in the video!

I lived in Montana for quite some time. Montana has a lot of little unique quirks. Because of its unique physical position, almost all vehicular (gazuntite) traffic going to the northwest travels through Montana. Because of that they have some strange traffic laws. If you are stopped, the State Trooper makes you pay your bail in cash to him, or her. If you cannot come up with the cash, you are forced to stay in the county jail overnight for a judge to review your bail in the morning. You may also just have court at this time, even for reckless driving or a DUI. It doesnt matter much though, because Montana has reciprocity laws with the fewest number of states, so your state may never know. In 2002 I got caught speeding going in to Butte from Idaho. I was travelling 128 in a 75. My ticket was $48. Kansas never knew. Also Montana has an unsual law based on the Jack London short story, "To Build a Fire". If you are in a Montana bar, at closing time, you will get your last call drink into a "to-go" cup, and can drink it while you drive home. You still can get a DUI if over the legal limit. Also Montana was the state that most benefitted from Airline Regulations requiring airlines to fly certain routes. Montanas routes were subsidized into the 2000s, but now that this has stopped. places like Glasgow Montana have no dedicated passenger rail, air, or bus service, and is 600 miles from the nearest public transit of any kind. And lastly, Montana has America's most dangerous airport. Bert Mooney airport in Butte requires special FAA certifications to take off or land from there. Oh, and one last funny thing. There is a mural at the Montana State Capitol building depicting various scenes in early Montana history. Around 2000 Montana got its first female Governor. She was a spitting image for the Madam at was what was then (early state history, not 2000) the largest brothel west of the Mississippi, in Butte.

Interesting video. Not as glamorous but nice to hear about smaller states

Idaho is currently one of my top contenders to move to.
