Dig Two, Day One: Introduction

Day One of our Roman villa dig in Oxfordshire is off to a great start. Here's Tim, Derek and Lawrence this morning discussing a key aspect of the dig: data gathering.

Over each weekend, we are amassing a huge amount of data using a range of techniques, which will ultimately be pulled together to provide an immersive experience for both sites.

Dig Two: Day Zero

Just another quick preview of the beautiful English countryside today, before we get properly underway with the archaeology tomorrow.

The drones have been up in the sky over Oxfordshire and we'll have the first model to share with you in the morning (UK time), before heading out for Site Walkabouts and preparing our first Spoil Heap Q&A.

Dig Watch: Post-Dig Reflections

Flat Iron – 3D Model

You never know what you might find on a Time Team dig. While our Cornish site is associated with the Iron Age, this particular artefact discovered during the weekend is a more recent object – a modern flat iron, likely dating from the 19th or 20th century.
