Solitude with God repairs the damage done by the fret and noise and clamour of the world.

Good morning!
“Whatever You give me is all that I’ll need.”
That statement is something I have been practicing saying to God but I notice how often I revert to my laundry list or my dart prayers of “bless so and so” or “please, we need xyz.” I’m sure God doesn’t mind the variety of prayers that come His way, but I have found so much more peace and contentment with the statement above.
There was an “outcast” type of woman who basically said that ve...

Faith is not an instinct. It certainly is not a feeling - feelings don't help much when you're in the lions' den or hanging on a wooden Cross. Faith is not inferred from the happy way things work. It is an act of will, a choice, based on the unbreakable Word of a God who cannot lie, and who showed us what love and obedience and sacrifice mean, in the person of Jesus Christ

Another aspect of praising God in and for all things is the “open hand policy.”
I just coined that but I’m sure you will understand and maybe relate.
There are many things, people, habits that we hold onto. We grip them. We hold on for dear life. We may not think of it that way, but that is what it is essentially.
As we open our metaphorical hands to God and say, “You give and You take away,” we can have things flow into and out of our liv...

Good morning!
Most of us at one time or another recycle things within our lives. The biggest, sometimes “baddest” is our past. Rehash, recycle, repeat. How much time we spend in that cycle can determine our present and our future.
Blind Bartimaeus threw off his cloak and ran in faith toward Jesus for healing. Metaphorically, we can see that he didn’t let anything put a wedge between him and the Savior. He was told by Jesus “your faith has healed you.” Mark 10:52

No woman who has not learned to master herself can be trusted to submit willingly to her husband. And that word willingly means that she does not merely resign herself to something she cannot avoid. It means that by an act of her own will she gives herself.

“It is not what he has, or even what he does which expresses the worth of a man, but what he is.” –Henri-Frédéric Amiel
Men, I’m sorry for how society has devalued you….or put value on what you have or do more than who you are. I, for one, am ever so grateful for men. God made you in His image with qualities that I would never want to dismiss. Thank you for being here 🕊️

To rest in God's power when your own weaknesses seem to be screaming at you? That's grace! To be confident in who God is for you when you feel overwhelmed by odds against you? That's peace! To stand alone against massive intimidation? That's trust! To know beyond any shadow of a doubt that God is bigger, and therefore you cannot lose? That's the faith that moves mountains!

Good morning!
Towards the end of each year, my mind starts to go into evaluation mode. Looking back over the year and thinking of how I wanted the year to go as it began and what has happened to sync up with that….or not.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1 It is a favorite because it keeps me from looking back in shame and guilt. That is all removed. What I have now is an opportunity. An op...

You can choose to control Your focus, or you can let someone else take it away from you. When you learn to avoid highly stimulating activities that destroy your ability to remain calm and focused, you’ll find yourself capable of tackling your major tasks with more ease than ever before.

Good morning!
Last week I wrote about learning to believe. Today I am going to talk a bit about learning to believe that God is healing…..you, your marriage, your relationships, your kids, your business, whatever it is.
God has always used unlikely people to fulfill His purposes. So none of us, through our own faults, can escape the abilities of God to work in and through us. But we have to step into His way of thinking and understand the ways He may work. Sometimes He uses doct...

I don't want to burst anyone's eardrums so please watch out when I start making my smoothie because somehow the sound didn't mute and the video is not able to be edited at this point.
The shorter public version that posts on Saturday will have that muted but the longer version had already been lost after the upload :(. Sorry about that!

Good morning!
Have you ever thought about concentrating on learning to believe?
I was reading a book and the author suggested that we have to LEARN to believe. I thought that was profound! Most of us feel that believing is something that you either do or don’t do. Many people try to believe one way but feel another way. The struggle exists between the two.
As Merlin Carothers points out “We can learn, one step at a time, to discard a lifetime habit of believing onl...
