MagicaCSG 0.0.5 Beta

I. Revolve Mode [Stroke->Top Bar]

You can make any stroke shape revolved around Y axis in this mode.

Especially, you can use the Bezier and line shapes to create the profile of object.

There are two new options on the top bar for the control points in this mode:

1. Keep X of control points positive;
2. Lock the origin of the stroke at the first control point;

II. Two-sided Cone Mode [Stroke->Top Bar]

You can have reflected cones on both sides of strokes in this mode (such as diamond, etc.).

III. New Triangle Variant Shapes

1. 4-Point Quadrilateral (Triangle->P4)
2. 3D Triangle (Triangle->P3 + 3D)
3. 3D Tetrahedron (Triangle->P4 + 3D)
4. 4-Point Rhombus Shape (Triangle->PD + Rhombus Modifier + Vertex/Top)

IV. Bug, Gizmo and Interface Fixes

Comments

the next version will be available soon.

ephtracy

Sorry to bother, but is there any chance of getting a link to download this version? As I understand you are reworking the renderer and so the render option is missing in the 0.1.0 version. I could always just export and render in a different program but the built in renderer is faster , looks really good and is more convenient.

you can manually set blend to 0, but as a result, you may get zigzag edges.

ephtracy

is there a way to prevent different strokes from merging with each other?

Bruh Moment

A grid snapping mode would be nice indeed. For the time being you can set a desired Move snap value and keep using Alt whenever you move a stroke.

Love this update ephtracy! Any plans to add some kind of grid snapping feature? I'm doing some industrial / mechanical designs, thought it would be nice to have a feature like that for uniform shapes and translations. On that same topic but a pipe-dream wish, there's a blender add-on, I think it's called gridmodeller, that lets the user snap a gridded work plane to any surface for discrete detailing work.
