Merrick in 3-D!

After entirely too much tinkering and fine tuning, I've come to an acceptable result. I learned a lot from the Veemon model, and applied it all toward this one. It's a lot more usable I think. Figured out what inverse kinematics are, kinda. So, it's not perfect, the clothes do crumple a bit in the back when the body bends. In the turntable clip, I did have to tweak the clothes to make them normal again, so that's still a quirk of an early model release.

Upcoming: Merrick in 3D

He's just about done! Complete version 1.0 at least. Someday I'll be a much better modeller, but I think this is literally the best that I can do as is, and I've quite happy with how he's come along! It's something of a dream come true to have a 3D Merrick of my own, and I'm quite thrilled I could be the one to make it. Even if someone else coulda done it better. uwu

I'll be releasing the rigged up model in the near future once I'm sure it's done and 3D print ready. :3

Merrick Model (WIP)

So! Here's my next excuse for my lack of uploads, and it's a half decent one this time. I've been learning more on Blender lately, this time tackling Merrick at long last. I've wanted a 3D Merrick for literally the last 8 years, and after learning Blender on Veemon, I felt confident enough to go for it. I made my mistakes with Vee, and this one is going so much smoother. Still much to learn, but I'm quite happy with how it's coming along. :D I think I've spent about as much time tinkering wit...

Traditional Agumon

I slept on this one for a long while. Way too long really. But I learned a few tricks between stopping and starting again, that I think made the wait worthwhile, primarily in combining colored pencils with the markers to better vary depth and add slight hues where an ink marker would be too intense. Right on the wall this one goes too. :3

Sorry, it's been another slow month, big surprise I know. I have been able to get some traditional stuff going while at work though, at least. I've got Veemon there in marker, and some non kink stuff that I've done in gouache and colored pencil. I'm growing gradually more fond of these media. :3

Funderful Birthday - 24

You would not believe how much I really wanna see this thing complete, in spite of all evidence to the contrary. Time to give it another nudge. No promises as usual, but I reeeeally wanna put this one behind me. It honestly haunts me that I never finished it. <X3

Whilst at work, I don't have access to my computer, and thus I cannot work on those sole tunnel YCHs. But I can sit behind my tool chest and doodle things in relative privacy for the most part. Great for when I get that traditional mood cropping up. :3

Veemon - Traditional

Was feeling traditional again. :3

Decided to try lining it with a colored pencil instead of an ink pen this time, and I like how it works with the alcohol markers. This is just a phone photo, I'll scan it properly later on, but I and not displeased with the quality of the photo for now.

Super Naughty YCH Preview

Here's a preview of a YCH I intend to toss up on FA soon. I'll have a few days off soon and it seems like a good time to work on it. I will get a baseline colored up before I make it live though, so that I can focus on getting the final products out to interested parties quickly.

A Remarkably Poor Idea

An art trade with a very patient friend, here is his character Mason (adult but a bit on the midget side) being very reckless with the meanie doggo. He thinks he knows what he's getting himself into, but I don't think he really does. >:3

Less ambient version included because I'm not sure how I feel about the lighting in the main one, I'll see what I can do about it another time.

Little by little I've been tinkering with this one, an oil painting that's been sitting on my desk for weeks, now to the point that I don't want to work on it anymore, so this is as far as it's going to get. =p

I'm not too thrilled with the quality of the scan, but it's not terrible. I'll see what I can do with a camera later. X3
