Jungle Fever memory (step by step)

Ha! It was such a pleasure to draw him here, in the jungle, the bamboos. It's very good memory from the first chapter created last year!

Tattoo Fantasy

Sometimes you grab a pencil watching tv, sketching around, and sometimes it ends up this way!

It's a cool move as I don't draw that many tattoos in my art. But this tattoed tit is like a trademark for me: I had the idea wayyy back a long time ago, with 4 triangles, not 3 like we got here. I should dig my archives to find this and show it to you guys.

An updated and slower version of the creative process for this one. Funny to see I didn't divide the hair stage from the shading at that time. This last step got so much importance in my art, my mind & my heart! Just like the hair part, hehe!

I realize I love to draw wooden backgrounds. I need to have a setup for LUST where they are in a wooden cabin! XD

This is a blast from the past: Throw Back Thursday from september 2016! You see the original graphite rendering, I added some digital colors later. Very shiny indeed, especially down there LOL.

Still love this one, although I do see here how much I improved my art, like the shading. I don't draw very often such "long" curly hair, so it's good to see this guy again. BUT a forthcoming new character of the LUST comic has that kind of hairdo, hehe!

Can't stand anymore! (Step by step)

I gotta say: I LOVE this pose, even weeks later, and it's a pleasure to give you the steps that led to the final piece that opens the second chapter.

The background was a bit of a struggle, but I managed to render it the way I pictured it in my head. I still got issues with the sky, and you'll see it's going on in the next pages. A lil training on how to draw hair on a very VERY round volume like, let's see, a butt! I always find hard to render the shading on the booty too, but it's soOoOo good to draw, haha!

LUST Chapter 2 pin-up step by step

Producing this file reminds me how far I get with this that was meant to be a kinky sketch. I was pleased with the result so I gave it the final treatment, although you may notice it's not the same art paper I use for the actual final pages for the comic.

The tricky part was definitely the curly hair, but I found a way to make this work, better than what I was going for on the previous sketches.

Eyes, hair, hairy body are all lighter than the other characters. I rather high contrast but ...

LUST comicbook inside cover (step by step)

It's an updated one, as I shared the original steps before. This one has two improvements: it's slower between the early black & white stages, as I do for a little while now, and it shows how I added colors for the printed comicbook!

I keep my coloring quite simple, as my drawing & shading are pretty detailled (who said complicated!?!). And it seems to me it's working, all the more colors are not my forte, hehe!!

As I promised, a *little* something to give you a glimpse of what you can expect in the next episode.

I hope you like it, it took me much more hours than what I was going for, hahaha!!! Got carried away with the guy, but it helped me to see how I'm gonna render him finally inside the comic. Sounds pretty promising.

You'll get a step by step for this illustration. Plus I realized there's other stuff I forgot to post, damn it, it's coming next days ;-)

LUST news & more

Promoting LUST is taking more time & energy than expected, all the more I work on the second chapter, sketching the new characters, as there's gonna be much more, and producing the actual new pages. So I'm just delaying for a little week the posting for the 1st page of LUST #2, sorry for that. You'll read the first page next monday, february 19th.

BUT, in order to please you anyway, you can expect today a VERY LUST post, hehe! I'm not gonna tease you more, I go back to my drawing board. Ha...

This upcoming new character for LUST is a blast to draw, especially the hair! He's like the only guy in the cast for now who has such not that short curly hair. It's not that easy to draw, and I wonder how I'm gonna handle such hairdo with the... big action that's coming for him.

LUST comicbook inside cover

Okay, you know this one, but this is the last variation I did on it: COLORS!! I didn't remember I had such jungle & plants around, but I kept the colors simple. You see here the wide version, it's a lot cropped to fit in the US comicbook format. It's funny to realize later how much the colors & lights give volume to his body.

As usual, an updated step by step with the color processing is coming next. Thanks for the support, guys!

You see mainly the background I added to this original drawing & the coloring process. I let all the colors that spread out of the cropped zone you actually see in the comicbook. Cropping is somewhat part of the magic, hehe!

A first bunch of sketches I drawn while attending the Angoulême Comiccon. It's a classic trick to be drawing while the public's around: this attracts people, hehe! I had some compliments & some people bought my comicbooks or the ones' from my fellow comicartists sitted next to me.

Here you just see various studies, the one character making the final cut to the next chapter is easy to recognize. ;-)
