Ben Cohen Pride

Saw a picture of Ben Cohen on his Instagram account today. It was taken during Pride London 2011, he posted to celebrate 2018 Pride. Couldn't resist to quickly draw him, while I didn't plan such work in my schedule. I was so focused on his head that I screwed up body proportions, especially his right shoulder, which lead me to crop the final scanned version you see here. Also corrected the collar, no texture drawn behind the neck, tss tss... working *fast* doesn't do me good.

Drippin' sketch (NSFW)

I shared a censored version of this sketch from a forthcoming panel of LUST on my social media yestarday, still working on its background today.

The funny thing here is first it was supposed to be a close-up on the dick. Then I expanded this to the nice anatomy of the arm, biceps, shoulders. When I went for a very special mouth expression, I finally told myself half of his head had to be seen!

Hop, it's all gone, smooth mike a baby. Damn, he seems much younger! XD I just prepare a panel from page 22 the same way but with ALL the body on a perfect view, lemme tell it's weird when you're used to his hairy body since chapter one! But it's fun :-)

Now I wanna make a poll to know which one you like better, folks! :-D

July in mind: end of chapter 2

Hey dear Patrons!

Thanks to all of you for your pledges. All the rewards have been sent. To all of you going on holidays, enjoy!

No holidays for me as this long month will see the end of LUST chapter 2: all the remaining pages will be posted (5 weeks!).

I spent very stressfull time lately, doubting about my skills, my art, the patreon system, etc. I didn't manage to work properly on 2 major comics at the same time: as I've been able to produce LUST, I couldn't produce the comic for...

Today should have been a rest day, aka no drawing day, focusing on preparing pages 22 and 23 for LUST all together (last double page of the second comic). BUT, as I needed multiple poses of a man looking behind, I remembered this pose of a model and decided to give it a quick sketch. I'm still unable to find a less finalized/quicker draw way yet, but there you go! Love all his beauty spots BTW.

Going further with storyboarding, I just discovered I did the exact pose of the head and neck...

Foot in the air! (Step by step)

When I built up this pose, I didn't know I would keep it that long and I will draw them several times, close-ups etc. I just made a deal with myself to go for something far less tricky next time!!!

Anyway, classic stages are there, you can see I struggled at the sketch: two versions are shown, with major anatomy problems hehe, but hey that's how it works sometimes. I just got lucky enough to catch the main errors BEFORE the drawing was complete.

Their eye contact in this scene says a lot...

Today I saw the hashtag "eyememe" so I decided to give it a shot, using the characters from LUST comic only. It's kinda strange to see them cropped this way. All the more when you recognize some panels they are taken from! XD

Bye Bye Tie (smooth variation)

Although I really REALLY love him hairy, I came to draw his body so fit and ripped, it's all covered up with the glorious body hair of his! So these smoothie variations give us the chance to lurk on these details, hehe!

I went a bit further with another panel, stay tooned (as says my friend Patrick!)

Hard on you (p21 preview)

On my drawing board today, the panel is finished but when I was performing the sketch, I realized it was worth sharing. This is why it looks much more polished than usual (hair & beard). This face expression is a ticket for catastrophy, I was challenged with it but the result goes with what I had in mind!

You'll see the finished version with more sweat!

Sunny Hump Day! (Step by step)

A shorter version here: the sketch and the lines stages weren't worth the scan. Simply because ALL this piece depends on the shading. And it was huge! I mean, I used again this new paper I got for my birthday and it's soOo grainy that I had to put the graphite HARDER than usual. So I used almost all my hardness on this one. This explains why the rendering seems pretty softer than usual.

I'm often told my art is inspired by Tom of Finland's work, and this drawing is almost like an homage, when ...

It's been a while I didn't go for a perfect bubble butt with a nice tanline. There you go! The shading is everything here. Love the golden skin in the coloring. A very good practice.

Bye Bye Tie (step by step)

Okay, I will say it: I LOoOoOVED drawing him here! Plus he's looking at us so it's like perfection when you love the guy hehe.

Classic stages here, although I reserved a variation for a smooth mix of the complete panel. It means I drawn the body hair at the very ultimate end of the process. You see the smooth variation for 10 secondes, but I will post the still image later.

Deimos step by step

A quite long process showing one XTRA stage: the very first sketch, totally messed up! XD Then you see the correct version and all the usual layers, plus a smooth version before hair body, then all the colors process, refering to the Class Comics comicbooks.

Elegantly undressed (step by step)

I had a lot of pleasure drawing this. A set up with clothes isn't the easiest, all the more when your characters interact directly with these. On this panel and the other you'll see as a step by step, I paid lots of attention to the anatomy, it's so cool to build a character this way.

Stretching on plane seats! (Step by step)

I was very worried about this scene when thinking about the set up, and this acrobatic pose I chose. But it turns out smoothly, even with the wide range perspective including the top head of the hero watching and reacting to their new place.

The stages show clearly how I work as a right-handed artist. This view of the surroundings figure them all in a quite small space, I think it didn't really occur before. Yep, all the more we were focusing on much more... important things. Oh, we still are?...

On my drawing table today, featuring in forthcoming page 19 from LUST Chapter 2. It's a very intimate and soft break in something much more wild and raunchy, as you witnessed lately ;-)

Golden Hump

Celebrating Hump Day with some new tools & paper I got as a birthday gift. This is all graphite artwork on grainy paper, scanned and quick digital colors. Not satisfied with the outlines, I tried to blur it but it gave a blurry touch that I disliked even more LOL

Anyway I had pleasure studying anatomy again, the muscles are so complex, and cropped this way I got something purely graphic.
