That's the panel where the fight action starts for real, and I loved drawing this one, hehe! You can see how I was seeking for the right position, early at the storyboard stage it was kinda the same. I was very eager to create the fight scene, but also terrified!

The black & white version feels always more readable to me, maybe cause I'm not performing the colors myself. I still see the lack of special fx like the lights from the weapon, but I read them. Well, cause I'm the author, I guess, LOL!
Even if I worked hard on the poses & the bodies there, I love how the focus on the hands feels big too. Thanks to the hands play, the outcome is what it is.

This one started as a quick sketch, you can see the line art a bit nervous, then I wanted to add *quick* shading & finally I over worked the illustration, so it looks like a finished piece, haha! I really enjoy practicing the shading with digital graphite.

Another take with the *simple* shadows as color, matching a colored background. What I like in this type of rendering is delivering the white as a real color, not just the original blank sheet of paper (aka blank file as it's digital ^^).

Without the colors & special fx, there's only flesh fighting! The sweat is also more visible, just like the blood: thick & black. As before, the work in progress force field here can't be used as a final black & white version, it should be reworked.
About the rendering itself, I like how raw & violent it goes with such action!

An oldie that didn't age well to my taste for this throw back thursday. A fanart of a pronstar with some amazing ASSets! The inking was traditional, like the sketch, all scanned before digital colors.
You clearly see the gap with what I produce now, but it's interesting to look back. Still, if I remember well, this one a favorite back in the days!

Lots of action again & I enjoyed performing the storyboard: you get that messy, dynamic vibe that suits the overall action. Although I just love the final result, it looks too polished for some nasty bloody fight for your life! XD

This one took time, although it should have been an all inked illustration, I was carried away with a colored background & then... well I got free & tested out stuff with the colors, the shadows & especially the lights. They figure out as drops of sweat, or some weird texture.
Anyway I like the result, I hope you do too! BTW, as I worked hard on that HOT face of his, I added a zoom in, you also see how much detailed (too much?) I like my men. :-P

The sketchy storyboard seemed clear, but it was not that clear when I had the finished art before sending for colors. It's such a tricky page with new ways & stuff, as I said: the fight scene is harder to get, all the more I didn't create much before.
Still I need to learn fast: it's not gonna be the only one. :-D

A detailed view on this animation for this throw back thursday! Only 2 frames, and I drawn them side by side, as shown on the sheet process I did scanned for each step back in the day.
I remember panicking a bit at some point, not sure at all it would work, but it turned out fine. All lies in the timing and it was fun to try many possibilities. :-)

As shown in the last image, I was going to train my cross-hatching, after watching new vids of comic masters, and the first try-outs were not convincing: I really need to merge my cross-hatching now (you witness on the NIMO comic) & these possible evolution.
In the meantime, for this lovely fanart of the actor you voted for, I played with the dirty details of the background around his body to make it pop as a perfect white skin, hehe!

Especially in this page, you see how this *noire* version is a work in progress: the force field building only with thick lines, on the silhouettes mainly, isn't working. If I wanted to get a readable black & white version, I should rethink the rendering of some parts. The page is think as a stage to pass on the colorist & his magic. :-)
You also notice how the speedlines are created & rendered as white with the colors.
