NEW WRESTLING VIDEO: Baba/Inoki: The Story Behind Puroresu's Greatest Rivalry

The two biggest names in Puroresu, Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki, didn't exactly get along -- their rivalry wasn't just about New Japan and All Japan, it was much more personal. This video tells the story of their early years in the JWA, from being brought in by Rikidozan to the coup attempts and disputes that would lead not just to their rivalry, but to the end of Puro's original company. Enjoy!

A quick update on the next Puroresu video...

This is what the next wrestling video's going to be. I've alluded to it a couple of times and there's been various bits where I've talked about Inoki and Baba not particularly liking each other, so I thought it was high time to do a big, proper video on it that goes into the history of the pair -- it'll cover a period that starts with them breaking into the business, goes through the JWA a...

In Defence Of Street Fighter 1 | Kim Justice

The original 1987 Street Fighter arcade hasn't exactly aged well. In fact, it's aged so badly that sometimes, people forget just how important it actually was -- the original title didn't just set the foundations for the all-time classic sequel, it laid the groundwork for some of its fiercest competitors. It's time to give SF1 a bit more love. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO!: Forgotten PS1 3D Fighting Games

There were a lot of 3D fighting games released in the 32-bit years, and most of them have fallen by the wayside. This vid concentrates on various obscure fighters for the PS1 -- there's a Jurassic Park game, an odd anime-style projectile based one, games from the likes of Capcom and Konami...and yes, some trash. Enjoy!

NEW WRESTLING VIDEO! ROH vs. CZW Part 2: Notorious

Here we go! The last part of ROH vs. CZW, starting from right after The 100th Show and going all the way to the end and beyond. Ring of Honor were in a pretty lousy state at the end of the last vid, and they need to get someone else in to join the fight...but who? Enjoy. :)

The Story of the Marlboro Lynx: A Very Questionable Handheld Variation

It's a new vid! As I was doing a Lynx game for the first time in the last vid, that being Batman Returns...yeah, I ended up coming across this whole thing, and naturally had to look up all sorts of things about it. The Marlboro Lynx! Consoles and cigarettes, together at last. Enjoy this quick look at a very strange and seriously inadvisable tie-in.

NEW VIDEO! The Many Games of Batman Returns | Kim Justice

It's a new video! Today, we're looking at the many and quite varied games of Batman Returns. We've got classics like the SNES Beat 'em up, the not quite as classic Mega Drive game, some quite underrated titles, a point and click adventure, and...well, the Amiga one. Lots of detail and stories along the way too. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO! A Selection of Strange and (mostly) Bad Arcade Games

Hey! It's a new video! Today's one centers around some rather odd little arcade games -- a good amount of them are bad, although I have a soft spot for some of them. We've got the likes of Journey, Atari's Batman, some spin-offs of Hunchback, Haunted Castle, and plenty more.

I did want to put a quick note too: Sorry that the video output hasn't been as normal lately. There is a good reason for that; I have been working on a very significant project, something that's wholly new for me an...

The Story and Games of The Crystal Maze

The Crystal Maze is one of the UK's greatest ever game shows, and it's still held up well to this day. However, the games based on the show are a bit less well known...this video looks at a couple of arcades, as well as a PC game that might be of interest, and a bunch of other related items. Enjoy!

NEW WRESTLING VIDEO: ROH vs. CZW Part 1: Shock and Awe

The 2006 feud between Ring of Honor and Combat Zone Wrestling is possibly the most entertaining and all-around best promotional war in wrestling history, and it deserves a look back -- a multi-part one at that. This first half covers all the events leading up to ROH's 100th Show, as the two promotions battle to be the top dog in Philadelphia.  Enjoy!

(I originally planned to do this feud all in one video but...yeah, I kinda forgot just how many awesome things happen during it, henc...

NEW VIDEO! The Hidden and Hilarious Messages in Amiga Games

Here's a new vid :) this is an extended video version of a piece that I originally wrote for the first issue of Amiga Addict. I was always happy with it and wanted to get it on video eventually, and now here it is! A little look back at some of the Amiga's best dev messages, ranging from the threatening and profane to the silly and heartwarming, and to the...well, to the Richard Aplin. Enjoy!

(This Patreon version is also uncensored, the gen. release version will not be)

The Story and Success of Vampire Survivors - Why It's So Great

Here's a new one! A look at a game I absolutely can't stop playing, the glorious Vampire Survivors. Why's this game so ridiculously addictive, and what made it such a big success in 2022? Let's have a butchers. Enjoy. :)

ROH vs. CZW - Prelude: The Rise of Necro

CAUTION: This video and the match it covers is quite bloody and graphic, to say the least.

Before Ring of Honor and Combat Zone Wrestling lit up the indies with their tremendous promotional feud in 2006, a couple of events in 2005  paved the way for what was previously unthinkable to actually take place: A stiff match with a couple of trainees led to one of the great style clashes, and one of wrestling's most brutal blasts of violence -- Samoa Joe vs. Necro Butcher. Here's a ...

A Lil' (mainly Wrestling) Update

Hey folks! Hope you've all had an awesome Christmas/holidays.

Just coming in here with a lil' update on stuff that's currently in the pipeline. First off, the response so far to the new YouTube channel, Kim Justice's Wrestling Road, has been fantastic -- it may have taken a few tries to actually get the video to stick on YouTube, but the Vader one's doing some awesome numbers. It's great to introduce some of these vids to a new audience, and there's certainly plenty more to come t...

NEW VIDEO: A ZX Spectrum UK TV Licensed Game Selection

A new little vid for Christmas! I have a selection of licenses that I haven't covered TOO much. The Young Ones is here as a rather big disaster, there's a Don Priestley triple bill, interesting text adventuring with The Archers and Yes, Prime Minister, the very unique (and bad) 3-2-1, and one of the last commercial Speccy games - Doctor Who: Dalek Attack. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO! TCQ: A Work of Art for the ZX Spectrum

Hey, here's a new video! This isn't quite Argonaut yet, but I wanted to get a vid out about this absolutely fantastic new Spectrum game. TCQ (Triangle, Circle, Square) takes something that was thought of as the computer's greatest weakness back in the day, colour clash, and treats it like it's the computer's greatest strength. The results are quite something! Enjoy.

NEW WRESTLING VIDEO! THE BIG MATCH #1: KENTA vs SUWA

Finally, some new wrestling content! This is a look back at KENTA vs  SUWA, a GHC Junior Heavyweight Title Match that took place on the 18th  September 2005, and is often thought of as one of the very best Junior  matches in the company's history. Not only will we go through the match,  but we'll also look at the nearly year-long feud that built up to it,  and what happened next. Lots to go through! Enjoy.

Wrestling is back VERY soon.

Hey hey, just a quick update -- I'm currently halfway through editing a new wrestling video! I'm quite happy with something, at long last, and I'm really looking forward to giving you something new here. Sorry that it's taken so long, but thank you if you've been here for the Puro and you've stuck by here...it's time to get the show back on the road. This, by the way, is the pic for said new video:

NEW VIDEO: The Story of Magnetic Scrolls and the End of the Text Adventure

Hey everyone! At last, here's the finished version of the Magnetic Scrolls video complete with more quotes, music, credits, lots of upper 3rd action and so on, plus a few little fixes that were pointed out (such as changing "Noun verb" around...). Hopefully you enjoy it, this was a great journey to go on. :)

(NOTE: For some reason this upload appears to me as though it has ads on it, which is rather annoying seeing as I've turned them all off. Hopefully this doesn't appear th...

The Story and Games of Magnetic Scrolls (ROUGH CUT) + Quick wrestling note, Rieko Kodama

Hey hey. I really wanted to get this up for you quickly before I gallivant off to Cambridge, and happily I've been able to fix something up...the Story and Games of Magnetic Scrolls! Now, do keep in mind that this is the ROUGH edition -- there's no backing music, lower thirds still need to be added, and perhaps a few more relevant quotes too. Still, this is something I'm very happy with so far -- I went into this one with trepidation, seeing as it's all about text adventures and I was worried...

Well, here it is. The big Telecomsoft video! This is but the first of several videos related to the Telecomsoft universe, covering the likes of Odin, Magnetic Scrolls, Beyond and Argonaut. Hope you enjoy this one, it's taken a fair chunk of time. :)

As mentioned at the end, Firebird ex-employee Richard Hewison's old "Bird Sanctuary" website was invaluable when it came to making this video. It's not online anymore, but it can still be found on the Internet Archive: 2022-09-27 11:34:45 +0000 UTC View Post

Hey hey, folks! Hope you're well.

It's been a fair while since I've done a bit of an update post, but I wanted to quickly get one in now, especially as I'm starting to work on some pretty big things. This should cover both gaming and wrestling, and I'll get to wrestling seeing as there hasn't been much there recently -- sorry for that. But that side of things isn't over by a long chalk.

It's fair to say that over the past couple of months I've been suffering from someth...

NEW VIDEO! The Story of Konami's Licensed Arcade Games

Konami's classic arcades are back on everyone's lips with the recent TMNT revival, so I thought now would be a good time to look at them. Games like the original Turtles, the Simpsons, G.I. Joe and X-Men represent some of the greatest cabinets of the early '90s, perhaps made all the more special due to most of them never leaving the arcade. Here's a look at nine quite special games, ranging from thoroughly famous to obscure, as well as ports and other bits of information. Enjoy :)
