February 2020 Status Update

Okay, so a lot has happened over the past couple months. As such, a lot of things are going to be changing. I'll try to keep this organized, but this may be a bit of a rambling post.

Firstly, Patreon. Since Patreon is kinda unreliable as a website, I've decided it's probably best to just use this as a glorified tip jar. Mini ARPG Project

What's this? A new sort of project? Allow me to explain.

This is what I'm going to be calling Mini ARPG. Basically, it's similar to ARPG, but instead of freeform comments for suggestions, it will be a vote based on predetermined choices. This one is 100% a game though. Everything will be done via rolls. No fudging the dice from me this time. ARPG:RE Demo V0.0.1

ARPG:RE's first demo has been finished. You guys will get first shot at the demo, and I'll be posting it publicly tomorrow.

What is ARPG:RE anyway?

ARPG:RE is a REmake of ARPG in the RPG Maker MV engine. It's simply an experiment I wanted to try out. The demo starts at the beginning of Floria's adventure, and ends after the first encounter with Myla.

Side Project: Mazmorra

Okay, time to give a few details about this project.

Mazmorra is an exploration/puzzle/RPG sort of game. Rather than the usual RPG Maker game gameplay, you click on objects on the map to interact with them. So, it's a bit of a point and click game.

As such, nearly anything is clickable and could produce an interesting result. Progression will be more about finding hints rather than leveling up. As a matter of fact, there are no levels. The heroine has plenty of stats though, and ...

Problem with the $400 Goal

I just realized that there was a massive problem with the idea of the $400 goal. As you may know, the idea was to add a 2nd ARPG player character to run alongside the current series. However, I realized one major problem with it.

The two characters would have to run at the same pace. If either of them go ahead in "time" it would cause serious issues. I don't actually know of a way to fix this, but I'm open to suggestions.

It isn't dead!

I've just been working on figuring out how I wanna do the style.

I've decided to go with a hand drawn style. It's a bit easier for me to animate and I think it looks a bit cuter this way. :V

It also makes it look less like a generic RPG Maker game. :V
