Turns out that a variable was not triggering correctly in one of the choices before the chase scene...

If things are not triggering correctly for the new BtM update, try making a new character, folks! Old saves could be messing up the update.
This happens sometimes when I add new variables to the game (which this time was about what kind of genitals the MC has shshshshsh)
