Our Life: Now & Forever is gonna let you have some influence over your bedroom from the very first Step! You won't be able to choose whole furniture sets or have the walls painted different colors as a child, though. 

You will be able to add or remove extra touches around the space to denote certain interests, and you'll get to pick from four different bedding styles! This separate design image was done to pre-plan the bedding choices that'll eventually appear in the actual BG....

The year is half over, but that means there's half a year left to get things done. I'm still in a hotel room after the move and that's alright, I'm fine working from there. I'll be settled into the new place before the next monthly wrap-up. Hopefully there won't be too many growing pains with it.

And there's a bonus! Two sleeve types were considered for her outfit. While both look great, this second one is a bit too hip for her, haha.

Step 2 of Derek's DLC is done and we've gotta a beta with the whole thing! Of course, there's still all of Step 4 but it's great to have an entire section of his story ready to go.

You'll have to start a brand new file for Derek's beta content to unlock, but there is an option at the beginning to skip right to Step 2.

Our Life 2: Opal's Car BG (Step 1)

Here's the latest OL2 BG that's been created! It's Opal's trusty car. The one that got them to Golden Grove and that will take the MC all around that town.

When creating the design doc for it, I decided to go with a totally different type of perspective than the cars in OL1. Now instead of generally showing the car's interior from the side, it has the viewpoint of a child sitting in the backseat. This does mean we'll have to make new BGs as the MC grows or if they're in a different seat...

Our Life 2: Cranberry Tint

So, I have said in the past that editing the MC doll details in a way that mixes two types of colors together wouldn't be possible because we wouldn't be able to describe the types of colors people have made properly in the text of the game. That meant there was no way to match Opal's coloring of red mixed with purple, at least as far as I figured. Our Life 2: Flutter Track Sample

We've got more music to share! And today's soundtrack sample is especially neat because it's one song with three versions. Flutter will play in moments of affection between the MC and a lead and the version you get is based on the age/maturity/depth of that affection. From simple childlike notes to a grand sweeping melody and in between, Flutter can grow with the characters and their relationship 💕

We showed that Step 1 CG of the gang sitting in the diner and now we've got the full background for it! It's got a really neat, old-fashioned look, haha.

Wow, it's another OL2 beta update already! We really kept busy in May and were able to pull things together for this. Our Life: Derek Swimsuit (Step 4)

Since we know there's a waterpark in Step 4, that means Derek needed a swimsuit to go with it! He had a different one before that we showed in the past, but it got an update to be another style of swimwear. It's pretty sleek.

Our Life: Bedroom BG (Baxter DLC - Step 3)

This is the bedroom of the rental place on the MC's street! And for just the summer of Step 3 it's Baxter's room. This is certainly not his style at that age, but he won't complain. It's someone else's place that he's lucky enough to stay in for a vacation. He's simply glad to be there, and he'd be happy for the company if the MC comes over to see it 💕

Our Life 2: Mrs. Baumann (Step 3)

We showed her husband a while back and now Mrs. Baumann is here in her Step 3 look! She's so lovely. We're still not actually making playable content for Step 3 though, we're just doing the sprite sets before going back around to do all the Step 1 CGs. And Step 1 is what's being written. That's gonna take a while, haha.

Our Life 2: MC House Hallway (Step 1)

If you played the beta you might've seen that there was no BG when you went upstairs. That won't be the case in future builds because we now actually have the upstairs for the MC's house! They live in a pretty cool place, honestly. Nice wallpaper.

July 2022 Guest Art: Premise Poll

And here's the premise poll as well! The topics are a little more specific than last month's, but still flexible enough that we can make fitting scenes based on which character wins. For example, "Afternoon Meal" could be a picnic on poppy hill with Cove, cooking in the kitchen with Cliff, or getting takeout with Derek.
