Hey, everyone! It's finally time for the beta update. The gang's all here and they're all grown up, well mostly grown up, haha. Derek's Step 2 scenes were added last time, so this version has that still and now includes part of the Step 4 story. It's not all of Step 4, but it is a very large chunk of it.
You'll have to start a brand new file for Derek's beta content to unlock, but there is an option at the beginning to skip right to Step 2.
The last Step 2-specific lines have come in! Soon baby Nicolas will have voicing throughout all of his scenes just like his big brother. Here's a little listen into what it'll sound like. Truly adorable.

In Step 3 Derek is part of the story for one conversation over the phone, not even in person. I said there wasn't ever gonna be a sprite for that, but people really wanted to see what Step 3 Derek was like and so I changed my mind and here he is.
You won't even see this full sprite in the game itself, just the top fourth of it. But you can't say we've never done anything for you, haha.

Serenity (she/they) is growing up π₯ΊοΈπ. She's developed quite a style over the years. But regardless of their interest in dark clothes, bleak music, and all things macabre, Serenity is still a very lighthearted person. She likes to have a good time and is happy to bring others along for the ride.
They've remained friends with Tamarack and Vianca, and are on better terms with Qiu at this stage.

The latest feature Shawna has constructed is a way to create your own bio image within the game itself! It can then be screenshotted and shared around.
With how many people have been doing that already by editing the images themselves, Shawna found a way to make it more convenient.
The whole thing is super impressive and I hope players will have fun making their own character sheets π

Shawna has implemented another new feature for the character creation system! Hooray for wonderful progress. Most of it isn't relevant for the current builds, but there is one part people are going to appreciate; the eyebrow layers were formatted to change colors the same way the rest of the hair can!

Since we're adding DLCs that allow you to have a totally different Step 4 experience, there needed to be a way to decide which version you got. That's where this new selection screen comes in!
If you've met the requirements for Derek's and/or Baxter's story than instead of automatically going to the Cove-centered epilogue like how things currently work, you'll get to choose your story.
Owning the Derek and/or Baxter DLC isn't the only requirement to unlock their version of Step 4,...
