Alright everybody, this should be the penultimate beta for Baxter! Step 3 was finished before and now there's a very good amount of Step 4 to experience. But, as you might be able to tell from the screenshot, Baxter's not gonna make things easy. For the MC or himself. Good luck, ahah.
The background of the diner Step 3 CG was updated! I changed my mind about it, haha. But that's what development is for. Now this is what it'll look like when it finally appears in the actual game.

Well, Baxter hasn't lost his shameless in some regards, haha.
To clarify, Baxter is just being an inconvenience and not acknowledging that fact because he is bold enough not to. It's a very lighthearted disagreement between people who get along! Sorry for the confusion and repeating comments, I wanted to let everyone know who expressed interest.

Things have certainly come a long way in terms of the character art. But, as I mentioned in the sketch preview, we can save the rest of the Step 3 work for much later. Now that the script is coming along more regularly, we're gonna need more assets for Step 1!

Alright, there was nobody who needed a new voice in all of Baxter's Step 3 content, but things have changed now that the script for Step 4 is well on its way. We've got three roles available; Jude, Xavier, and Scott.
This is, amazingly, the final casting call we'll be doing for Our Life: Beginnings & Always. Thank you to everyone who checks it out.
That missing craft store BG from the beta is complete and the first background specifically for Step 4 is in the works! It's Jude's and Scott's lovely home.

This also might be the last Step 3 related piece of art that'll be worked on for a while. Now that I'm drafting/writing for OL2 again, we'll be going back to Step 1 assets.

This is Scott Adam, the last sprite for the entire game and the last truly brand new character. He hasn't appeared in a single scene yet, even as an off-screen, no-sprite role like Jude did in Baxter's Step 3 content. Scott has been mentioned, though not by his actual name.
He's a real nice guy. Can you guess what reason he has to be here? Does the matching ring give it away, haha? Scott is Jude's fiancé and the two happen to be getting married soon.

Hello!
We've made to the end of the month, everybody. It was awfully busy. I had to take a trip to another state last minute, which I originally thought would be done in March so it hadn't even been mentioned in the monthly plans post. And there were various other non-development matters to deal with, but things still got done. Here's the breakdown-
This is it! The final background location needed for Baxter's Step 3 story and then all the art will be finished. It's a fun place.
The scene where you visit this store is actually already in the beta build using a stand-in image.

Since Step 3 is pretty much in the books now, the previews going forward are gonna be almost entirely Step 4 related from here on out. To start things off, we've got new expressions for Baxter!
As usual, the eyes, mouth, and eyebrows can be mixed and matched interchangeably. That means there's a total of nine new assets to draw on when deciding how he should expression himself in a scene. Very nice.

Baxter Step 3 is here! Hooray! Now, there are still issues with his content working in conjunction with the normal Cove scenes, so it's technically not entirely complete. But if you just play Baxter's stuff it's the whole thing and should be all good. How unbelieve that it's come this far 😭.
I've got the Q&A for the month of February finished! Thank you to everyone who sent in a question. And I'm sorry the audio is fuzzier than usual. For reasons I couldn't figure out, it ended up extra rough. But there is still the transcript if listening ends up being too unpleasant....
