Our Life: Now & Forever has a very snazzy rain animation. It doesn't show up the best as a gif, but how heavily it's raining can change and the drops appear on different depth levels of the background. Even more extra touches to the rain effect will be added later in development as well!

These are the concept sketches for the other perspective of the winding road out of the neighborhood. The way it all looked was already decided with the other viewpoint BG, so it was really just decided exactly what angle to use and how close it should be to the houses. I've written the full Halloween Moment for Step 1 already, Trick-or-Treat, and now we're having the first background location done for that story! Before the quest for candy, you get to pick a pumpkin 😊
And here's a fun fact- when I was a teen I sometimes went by the username Pumpkin Patch. That is where the "Patch" in "GB Patch Games" actually comes from, haha. Now one of my games finally features a literal pumpkin patch. It's all coming full circle.

Today we have another look into the final free-to-play Moment of Step 1. This from Part 1 of the story, but the event is so large it has three parts instead of the usual two. Excitingly, all three are already done right now! I managed to finish the Moment recently 🥳️. Now it's on to the writing the remaining DLC Moments and finally the "Fall Ended" portion of Step 1. We're getting there.
For now, though, we can enjoy a magical adventure with Qiu and Tamarack.

These were the sketch options for the winding road between the neighborhoods and forests that leads to the shopping area of Golden Grove. Version B is the one that made it into the game! It liked the tall fence around the near house, which is Ren's by the way, and the balance between the houses/woods.
We've gotten some doll icons for a couple the side characters, Pran Step 1 and Baxter Step 4. Though, I'm gonna tell you right now, you'll only see Pran's Step 1 icon with a "...". He isn't actually going to talk to you at that age.
And they will have mouths/eyebrows in-game! These are just the base images, haha. Either way, I think these elements are a cute part of the game.

I wanted to let you know I'm going on a trip tomorrow and won't be back at my place until the 21st. However, it's not a dedicated vacation. I'll be staying somewhere else and doing some cool things in the evenings, but I'll still be getting done half to full days of work while there. It'll really only be the travel days, the 16th and 21st, where it will be difficult to reach me and I won't be making OL2 progress. Besides that, things should seem pretty normal.
