Amy Render Progress

Amy's animation is flirting with the idea of being done in less than 40 hours.

I just send out player files for the animation to about 2/3rd of you.  I'll get to the rest of you before the rendering is done.


I am SUPER pleased with how she turned out.  I am going to put a shirt on her and make a YouTube teaser, and then I will start rendering the stereoscopic version.  All of this rendering will be done low-priority..  During the day I will work on other thing...

Ugh...

So as the camera has closed in on Amy the rendering estimate is up to 200 hours remaining.  9% is complete.  Should I let it keep trucking or should I stop it and reduce the quality to get it done faster?  I'd like your opinions.

Amy Animation Rendering!

I am pleased to report Amy's animation is now rendering.  Right now it is estimating 97 hours to complete but it's not too accurate as things slow down and speed up as the camera distance changes.  I'll get back with you later with an ETA update.

Amy Animtion Update

I am REALLY close.  I got a lot done today.  Fixed many last minute issues and even made some minor improvements on her rigging.  You know.. Final polishing up.

Rendering HAS begun, but only while I am sleeping or away.  I can start rendering the hair because that is finalized.  But I have a couple more things to finish up until we go into full-on rendering mode.

Amy Animation Update!

Hello!

I've just finished adding Amy's dynamic hair.  I wasn't originally intending to make her hair dynamic.  I was going to make it like a "helmet" wig.  But I gave into temptation and rigged her hair to flop around as she moves / shaker her head.  It took the better part of yesterday to do this.

Amy Animation Update

Just finished animating Amy's hands. Her arms, legs and feet are done. Just need to animate her fingers (simpler than it sounds), neck and head.. I think it's clear I need a bit more time.. I'm now estimating the 12-15th for completion. :/

Amy Animation Update!

Hey everyone!

Here's a progress report on the "Amy's Strong Debut" animation. I am still cleaning up (or in some cases re-animating) the motion capture data. I told you is a long animation! ;)


Her torso, legs and shoulders (clavicles) are pretty much done. Remaining are her arms, hands, neck, head and feet.


After this phase there are more things to do, but this phase is the most time-consuming step (except for maybe the rendering).

Charges cleared late

Hey everyone,

I looked on my Patreon account and noticed that there was some new money added.. 027 Amy's Strong Debut Animation

Amy makes her first bulky appearance in release #027.  The animation is still getting finished up, estimated delivery date around the 8th.  I will keep you all posted on her progress.

Amy Animation Milestone

Hey everybody,

Just hit a milestone.. I recorded the motion capture and transferred the motion capture data to Amy's rig. Now I have a metric-ton of mocap clean-up to perform; for all 2,780 frames of animation. Stay tooned!

Amy Animation Rigging Tech Successful

OKay... I just ran a test with the new rigging tech I had in my head. I finally got to see how it work work. And I LOVE it!

In previous animations.. Prior to Maggie, as she is a whole different approach.. But like Yui Remastered.. I modeled a lower-polygon "cage" model. This cage model deformed the main model. The one that renders and you see.

Amy Animation Progress

Just letting you know what's going on...  Amy is MOSTLY all rigged from heel-to-toe.  One more day and she will be fully rigged and ready for animation.

On one hand, I think this rig is looking (moving/deforming) really good..  But on the other hand, when I activate my new rigging tech (which I have to do last), it might be the BEST rigging I've done yet..  True it doesn't afford the flexibility of the skin simulation option, but there is no discounting how much more qu...

Hey...  You're gonna be mad at me.  I initially intended to create a very simple animation with Amy...  I would pose her in ZBrush and do some simple but fun flexing.. Kind of like a 3D version of "Peaking" or "Special Guest Star" (with Kira).

The problem is...  I really love how Amy turned out.  She's enormous and cute.  I want to fully rig her and make a better animation.  I also was struck with some really interesting technique ideas I want to try out ...

What is coming up next!

Howdy!

I'm trying to get caught up this month.. Not have a project lingering long after the month ends.  What I will be making is a sculpt of a (huge) blonde gal.  The above image is an early look at her.  Those who donate $6 or more will get some animated effects.. Bicep Drops is finally rendering.  And it's estimating 16 hours until completion (facepalm).  What a fool I was to think that 2D animation would get done quicker than 3D animation.  In any case, I think it turned out nice.  I hope you all enjoy it.  Be watching your emails sometime in the next 16 hours or so for it.

Thanks for being patient with me on these last two pieces.  I need to do something that will get me back on a timely release schedule.

Progress report

Hey all..  I've just finished the primary animation.. The length just tipped over 2 minutes.  I have a bit of secondary animation to finished.  I can probably finish that tonight.  But since we have more than 3,700 frames to render, that might the release a bit further.  They render fast, but there is a f---k ton of them.  I'll keep you informed on it's progress.  But for now.. I'm a starving artist!!!  Time to eat!

What is Coming Next

Hey everyone,

I've received a number of compliments on the last animation.. Thank you. :) Glad you liked it. I was not happy with some of the results on the final steps (rendering and skin sim) but I have some ideas how to improve those for next time.


As much as I would love to dig into the next 3D animation, I can not.. There is no where nearly enough time left in the month. But as I was lying in bed the perfect solution came to me. It got me so jazzed about the concept now ...

The final rendering pass is 43% complete.  Seems pointless to give hour estimates because the rendering times vary as the camera pushes in and pulls away.  Thanks for your patience!!!!!!!!!
