Hello!

Attached is a look at the set for the new animation.  While the set is probably complete, the lighting is not.

I'm happy to report I've hit a milestone...  Now I can take a break!  Amy's torso, legs and feet are animated for the entire length of the animation.

Next come the arms!  Then neck/head.  After that is the facial animation, simulations, flexing, etc...  Lots to do yet but I just made a huge dent in it!

Here's what's happening in the animation so far for those who like behind-the-scenes details.

So the audio is all done and edited together. I asked her to record some changes and I don't know if that will happen. She hasn't responded yet. If she doesn't, the sound will be "good enough" but if she does it will be pretty much perfect.

What is Coming Next

Hey all!

The feedback I've gotten from the last animation has been super positive.  And donations have increased too.  So let's do another one!!

I've just received (I before E except after C... Okay yeah...) the raw dialog recordings for the next animation.  The audio will be cleaner this time.  Her new mic is not -AMAZING- but it is improved from last time.  There will also be sound effects because of what is happening in the animation.  If all goes...

Render Progress

Hey all!

So rendering is underway as you know.  I posted this public, censored preview today.  Other than that I just wanted to let you know I am currently estimating the rendering will be complete in roughly 4 days.  Possibly 5.  Thanks for your patience!!

Animation Progress

I'm really sorry. I expected rendering would have started by now.. I had a new problem with one of her textures pop up that I had to extinguish and it took most of the day. But her clothes are done and the last of her textures are done. All that remains is finishing the rest of the background and animating the camera. So rendering will begin midday tomorrow. :/

HOLY SHIT!!

For the first time, I am seeing Amy's skin animating instead of her proxy shapes.  And this is soooo NEXT-LEVEL!  You guys (and gals) are gonna LOVE THIS!  I'm really close now.  I gotta animate the camera and do lighting and shit.. But I fully expect to be rendering by this time tomorrow.  Stay toooooned!

Animation Update!

Hey all,

Here's an update on the animation. Amy's breathing is animated, and her pectoral and bicep flexes are animated. I am super pleased with it all so far.  It's weird because I don't really get to see how she all comes together until the very end of this process.  So it's kind of like I have been waiting as long as you all have to see her take her final shape(s).  There are a few more muscle groups to animate but I'm getting pretty tired. I would have gotten more do...

Fingers fully animated...  Working on the rest of the facial animation now.

Animation Progress Report

Hey all!

Here's a progress report on the animation.  The torso and limbs are all animated and cleaned-up. The hands and feet are done, but the fingers are not. Going to work those right now.

The head and neck are animated but the facial animation and lip-sync is about 40% done.

After that I need to animate all of the muscle flexing, hair simulation, and then transferring all of this proxy animation data over to Amy's skin.. And I need to also animate the camera ...

Animation progress

Hey all..

Here is  a new progress report..  The animation is progressing well but the finished animation will most certainly not be ready for delivery on the 1st.  I am using some new tech on this one (other than the other stuff I mentioned earlier).  After the Kinect Motion capture I am using something called "Virtual Studio Tools" to puppet a bone with my flight stick.  It's really cool and the result is her torso will be much more lively than in past animations....

Progress Report

I've received Amy's audio and I recorded the motion capture for the scene.  And the audio is synched up with it.  Now I have a megaton of mocap clean-up to do, as well as lip-synch.  But early results are promising.

And don't worry if you cannot afford to donate $12 for this.  The $6 version will still be really awesome.  It's just the audio adds to that.  I will probably start with lip synch so I can show you all a slice of what she will look like while she t...

In addition to the cool new fidelity / technology in the next Amy animation, this next animation will be my first talkie!  Amy will speak!  I hired a real, live woman to voice Amy.  She has fallopian tubes and everything.  It's crazy!!

This is gonna be so very cool / sexy.  Hopefully I will have some kind of preview up for you all before month's end and you will see what I am going on and on about..  But it's too early to know for sur...

Great X-PecTations story progress

Hey all,

Just dropping you a line to tell you how the story is coming along.  I've just finished the fifth illustration.  I will be making one more; possibly two.  Let's say two.

I've been alternating writing and drawing for more or less each day.  So I would write until I get to a part I want to see illustrated, then I'll make the illustration.  It nicely breaks up the tedium of this long process.
