Earfun Free Mini - quick review

I got them directly from Earfun for a test, and it would be waste of time to make a video about them. They are not horrible especially for the asked price of €30. But the sound is nothing really special and they are not as Mini as the name would suggest. Compared to the Free Pro 2 the buds themselves are even thinner than the Minis:

According to the ear canal resonance statistics nearly 1/3 of people seem to be around 6000Hz. At the same time there are 12 so far who get values below 5200Hz, and I am not sure if my current 5100 setting can cover all those resonances or even lower than that.

Many seem to prefer some stronger lower bass emphasis compared to my neutral tuning which I wanted to make sound really "flat" with no real emphasis. Earfun Free Pro 2 - "Harman 2019" tuning

After return from holidays I sat down to prepare tunings strictly following the 2019 Harman target. Tunings are available from 5800Hz to 7650Hz, as this range seems to cover the major part of ear canal resonances according to the current statistics here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/60519720

Back from holidays

I'm back haha...! 

We had a great time in Bad Gastein and I wanted to share some impressions from our holidays. Unfortunately with this video the Insta360 failed to shoot with the correct mode therefore there is just some basic internal stabilisation applied which is far worse than what the pro-mode usually achieves, which is stabilised in post processing and allows for different aspect ratios or view angles.

Earfun Free Pro 2 - "mainstream" tuning

This tuning is meant for those who get too little bass and perceive upper mids as too harsh with the "neutral" tuning. I call it "mainstream" tuning as it should offer a similar sound to "neutral" but with more bass and less upper mids. Below you can see a measurement of both:

Earfun Free Pro 2 - "neutral" tuning

This tuning replaces the "smooth" tuning, because they should  be all smooth to some degree, but this one is supposed to sound neutral. This is how I perceive a Sennheiser HD600 more or less.

I tweaked the bass area a little bit compared to the "smooth tuning" and also extended the range of resonance frequencies to 5100Hz and 8300Hz. I cannot measure lower or higher than that, this is the maximum I can offer. This will also be the "standard" tuning for the Earfun Free Pro 2 if you ...

Earfun Free Pro 2 - user settings

Like suggested before, I would like this to become a base for sharing personal optimised user settings that are verified by others' ears unlike mine, where I can only verify the sound for my own ear canal resonance or the close by ones by applying either a deeper or more shallow insertion.

I will add more settings to the attached txt-file once I get sent them from you, please always also adding your own ear canal resonance.

Earfun Free Pro 2 - all "smooth tunings" finished

I finally finished all smooth tunings which can be found here. There are 10 different tunings within a range from 5450Hz to 7650Hz with about 1mm difference between each of them. Values above 7650 or lower than 5400 are hard to handle, therefore I hope I covered all necessary values. Please let me know if your resonance is higher or lower than that.
