I am so pissed, I was ready to upload my video, when my wife suddenly discovered the typo. Thank godness she noticed it, as I really didn't pay attention at all, but now I have to encode it again because I know how the youtube community will dwell on it. 

It will take several  hours to finish and upload the video again, thus expect it to finally be online tomorrow. But maybe I can upload the faulty version in the meantime and will post the link at least here.

Apple Airpods Max - first sound sample

I shot a first video of the Airpods Max immediately after unboxing them in a park yesterday. But at home I noticed that the audio I captured was not 100% representative. I am not sure what the reason is, but I think that I simply couldn't find the correct position for the headphone when wearing my mics as I cannot judge the sound that well with mics inside my ears.

JBL Clip 4 vs Tribit Stormbox Micro

When I returned the Sony WH-1000XM4 I took a walk through the Mediamarkt and tried out some stuff. The new JBL Clip 4 was quite promising knowing how horrible the previous one sounded, therefore I took it with me to check if it can finally compete against all the other great mini speakers out there. 

I also asked if I could do a video inside the market trying out some of their stuff, including the Momentum 3 and the JBL Club One which sounded most promising to me, but I haven't got...

Microphone issues

Unfortunately my microphones already started to have issues when I shot this.  The left side is cutting out repeatedly. I could provide the in-camera sound but that sounds even worse.

I have another pair of the same in-ear mics which I will use from now on, but I am a bit worried those will also fail after some time.

Sennheiser HD600 - Sonarworks profile for EqualizerAPO

This is an EqualizerAPO profile for the HD600 based on an impulse response of the original HD600 Sonarworks profile.

I use this EQ with my HD600 for all my monitoring.

Anker Soundcore Life Q30 measurements & EQ settings

The Q30 measures quite bass heavy with most EQ presets, enabling ANC reduces overall bass, while normal and transparency mode add even more bass. My unit shows some slight deviation between left and right channel, which is not that hearable though.

For the user EQ I would enable ANC and use either traffic or indoor mode, outdoor again boosts bass too much. Normal/transparency mode will add even more bass.

Verifying my recording method #1

This is my first attempt trying to verfiy my recording method by recording a recording of a headphone which should still sound close to the original sound. 

Unfortunately this pair of microphones I was using here broke in the meantime. I still have another pair which I will try to use from now on. I am currently trying to adopt my compensation to the new mics to get the same results as before.
