10mm Orc Pike

Just about finished messing about getting these Orc Pike ready.

Pikes made from plastic broom bristles.

So here he is. I have been slowly working towards a fusion of fantasy and scifi, so you all will be seeing this happen more.

Well I just had to at some point so a quick one I will be uploading the file for tomorrow.  Probably with better pictures as well. The ink is stil dry on this fella.

I've had loads of fun doing these. I tried the mirror printing to cheat and make a mob. I've included an upload for the other one I did so you've got them all in one place.

Whilst I was sculpting them I was wondering about doing some cosmonauts of the non zombie variety.

They are scaled at about 32mm(ish), details come out better and they look better a bit taller. Stacked boot spacesuits and all that.

Pike Orc Files

Here you go folks. Three variants. I used plastic broom bristles for my pikes. I may try to work out blades for the tops, if I can work out how to neatly do it.

So did a few photos of the pike orcs. There's just three variants of the pike orc in there but they look mixed and individual enough to for a unit. Plus shown with the earlier pointy leader and  banner orc.

I just love units with long spears/pikes so I've gotten back in the orc groove after that archer with some down and grimy Long Sporcs.

Here's two which just need a bit of a clean up before publication plus there will be a few more to make up a satisfying unit.

I'm using plastic broom bristles which work great for the pikes. 

I will also be looking to shrink them back down for 10mm units.

Here's a test sculpt for some ideas for a goblinoid archer. I think he's great but maybe a step too far away from the orcs?

I'm going to get on with some other stuff and have a think about him. Feedback is always welcome.

Dd22 tank…

Another preview of something I am working on. The ever popular tank that I scratch built a while ago. I’ve had a lot of people ask if it’s available as a 3D print soooooooo I decided to give it a go. It look like the main body will fit on the little build plate on my Phrozon mini so looks like it is possible.

Very much a work in progress but some folks have asked if I could do a space zombie/undead and well yes because I was already planning one. In fact I had started this as one of my early sculpts and lacked the tech knowledge to pull it off how I wanted.

I'm planning a few of these guys in various states of spacesuit distress and lurching. Loads more bits and details to add, but you get the idea.

I am starting to realize that one of the big attractions of 3d printing in the hobby isn't just printing whole minis but the chance to kit bash existing kits with bits.

Traitor Action Files

I've scaled these to be a bit chunky to be include in  our 40k(ish) games so they are more like 32mm/heroic. If you want something more trad 28mm then scale them down by say 5%.

I will be doing more guys in this range. Probably marching ones next month.

EDIT: for some reason the first Traitor Guard didn't have a visor, that's now been fixed. Apologies.
