That's right, I decided to print the celebrated 12-hour party saga on some ridiculously sized paper (8.27" x 46.8"). THAT'S ALMOST 4 FEET IN LENGTH. Printed on 190gsm satin paper so they look REAL NICE. Only 5 have been printed and even if I end up printing more (unlikely). These first 5 will be the only ones that will be numbered. Of course, they will be signed too. THEY ARE £15 EACH.
Anyway, I wanted to make sure you guys got first dibs. But I had to be REA...

Given the dark themes it seems fitting that I rediscovered this old draft so close to Halloween. You can tell its age from the very first panel. It's been a long time since I last drafted up a "Ultimate Way to Eat a _____" comic.
But yeah, I thought I'd share it with you guys cause 2 years on I still think it's ACTUALLY GOOD?? But I guess I didn't end up going with it back then. Maybe it was the abundance of text that threw me off. Or maybe I was worried it was too weird, but then ...

Some image flip action going on here. I'm pretty bad at forgetting the 180 rule where you should try to have the people on the same side of the panel as much as possible to make things simpler to digest. Thanks to the text in the panels it's clear to see where I did that.
This was actually an idea I'd sat on for a while, I was saving it for *THE GAME*. Cause Ian's in the game and I'm hoping/planning to have a fish collectathon sidequest to go with it. But eh, I figured I'd just throw the ultra...

Haha jesus, comic drafts don't get much sketchier than this. This was one of those rare magical Deathbulge comics that didn't take much time to draw. The trouble with that is it leaves you more time to overthink and second guess yourself. Maybe that's why I often opt to do jokes that involve complicated visuals, so I have less time to worry about it haha. #BULGETHEORIES

Hello and welcome to a SUPERTHOROUGH commentary on an earlier and noticeably very different draft to the final result of the Bulgémon Saga.
ROW 1: Yeah nothing different here, only the names got changed. This is the only time the announcer appears in this version!
ROW 2+3: No Ceriowl! Only Jayne(Musty) was hungry in this version with Wayne(Brick) being the one to voice complaint and intercept the breakfast with a DISGUSTING HAI...

Yeah mate. Here is next Monday's comic, TODAY. Featuring a particularly fun haircut.
Still a little unsure about how this comic ends but at least I have a couple of days to work on it if I succumb to THE DOUBTS 8^)

Still in the real early draft stages of this but yeah. Here's one of the rows. You can probably figure out the general theme for this one ;) Not sure if this'll be ready in time for Monday but we'll see. I don't wanna rush it!
Sorry about the lack of comic yesterday. I was all ready and willing to make one but my body decided to be very ill. I am feeling a better now though!

Not finished by any means + would be nice to shade stuff in real fancy like, we'll see. But yes here are some interior prototypes for the game.
One is of course a SALON, because not having one in a Deathbulge game would be beyond outrageous.
The other 2 are the ground floor and basement of a house, most likely the protagonists.
Isometric is a fun angle to work with. And from various games I've played. It's a fun angle to play in too. It's a fun challenge drawing ev...

Lots to talk about here!
Early on there was a plan for a wrestler whose haircut was a long red rope which made it confusing whether the wrestler had been thrown over the rope or not.
Tosser Ross was changed to Triple Ho because it became apparent Tosser Ross did not toss anyone during his time in the ring.
I changed the sign from saying BARRY 4 CEO because it threw people off during feedback.
I am kinda bummed I couldn't find a place for Ian the Fisherman, as his character de...

In about 11 hours I will begin posting comic 400, which will be yet another hourly comic saga posted to Twitter! It'll be the longest hourly comic yet. It will span from Monday 10am GMT to 3am Tuesday GMT. I have pretty much spent my entire week and then some on this due to how visually intensive it is through and through, but I'm confident I will be able to start posting it when the time comes!
As you might be able to work ...

Just finished next Monday's comic and for obvious reasons I am very happy with it and am too excited to hide it away for the whole weekend, so to celebrate, all you lovely patrons are getting a really early private viewing. BOOM.

THAT'S RIGHT. Here's a surprise early glimpse for you. I'm very excited about this one because so far I am really happy with how it's coming along. Especially that first panel. I should draw dragons more.
Rest assured there will be speechbubbles but I took them out to minimize spoilers ;). It will be a shame to slap boxes of text on top of this BUT I GUESS I HAVE TO UGH.

Hey guys as you may have noticed I have not posted a new comic for a few weeks and maybe you're wondering what I'm playing at and WHY SHOULD YOU BE A PATRON IF I AIN'T DOIN NOTHING? Well don't worry I am still doing plenty! I know I shedded light on my lack of activity in the recent comic where Ian dunks me into a grave, but felt that I should go into more detail here.
Rest assured the weekly comics will be coming back very soon I just really needed a break. But during that break I did a lot o...

I liked doing the 12 hour party saga a lot, people liked it a lot. So makes sense to DO MORE EH?
Attached is everything I did BEFORE the day of posting all the rows hourly. So all the proper linework/colouring/joke changes were done on the day. VERY STRESSFUL. In fact the strip due for 10PM that features Ian dunking the fireworks was actually finished dead on 9:59PM. Definitely the most intense drawing experience of recent memory.
As you can see the ending was originally gonna be a bit m...

THAT'S CORRECT.
13th June is Deathbulge's 5-year anniversary! WHOA!! So I'm gonna celebrate with another hourly comic thing cause I had a lot of fun with that format. Starting around midday GMT (that's 10.5 hours from now).
The hourly comic will centre around Ian the Fisherman celebrating the milestone. (Without me of course because I'm too busy being locked in a coffin underground).
Once again, it'll be a Twitter exclusive and then I'll compile and post the whole thing in other ...

Some new game animations HOT OFF THE PRESS. Maybe you recognise both the character and the instrument in play here ;). This is what i've been working on on and off for the last couple days. Really happy with how these came out!
And yes, I know double basses aren't meant to be held like normal basses, but the idea is that Ian is SO STRONG AND BUFF that he can hold it up with ease. (And without straps apparently).

Sorry for the delay! (This is my catchphrase now).
Here's an early draft of the 12-hour comic. There were a few changes. I still like that first row joke though, maybe if there's an EXTENDED VERSION that will be in it.
AND YES, even though this was posted hourly on twitter, I wasn't making them up and drawing them up every hour. Nuts to that haha, that is something I will never do. I can't rush to save my life.
But yeah this was quite a beast to figure out in terms of order and suc...

THAT'S RIGHT. I will be posting 12 comics one after the other over the course of the day on my twitter tomorrow, starting from 1pm GMT and ending at midnight. BE THERE.
I am very good at missing out on Hourly Comic Day every year, and I have decided to embrace that flaw and work around it. So this year I am making my own day.
I know these hourly things are usually focused on the artist's everyday life, but I am NOT DOI...

Thought I'd CHANGE THINGS UP by posting a first draft of a comic before even drawing it and posting it online. Now you're in on this adventure with me. Will the final do the sketch justice? or will the polished linework and colours TOTALLY BUTCHER THE DELIVERY? LET'S FIND OUT ON MONDAY.

Hey everyone. Sorry about the flimsy update schedule lately. I only just got back from Planet Comicon in Missouri (my first ever comic con outside the UK.) And on top of that, I am moving, so there is an awful lot going on. Figured I should let you guys know what was going on so you didn't think I was just being a lazybones.
Fortunately, due to the move, I will be able to stream a lot more. So look forward to much more virtual hangout action.
Anyway, on to the EXCLUSIVE PATREON D...

As you can see this comic was originally gonna be a lot longer. With a slow gradual descent into SLAP MADNESS but I guess I felt it needed some compressing. There are a lot of fun ways to continue this comic though. Extending into slapping the army, death, god, the universe itself. Just to go all the way to the maximum extreme cause yeah. Can't do any of that in real life, might as well do it somewhere.

OH YES. Here is the frame one. One of those comics that I wasn't sure about at first, but the more I drew it, I ended up really liking it. I was so happy with how it came out, in the finished version I don't think I could've done the final panel better tbh.
Boy we sure are getting close to comic #400. I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do for it. I'm leaning towards VERY OPEN-HEARTED SERIOUS COMIC, just for a bit of variety, haven't done that before. Would be interesting??? ...

Hey guys! Sorry I fell behind a bit with these. I guess I have been rather scatterbrained lately, spreading myself too thin with a lot of iron's in the fire. Here's a fun run-down for your curiosity:
- Finishing and getting Horseback Earthsmack printed in time for cons.
- Prepping for my first US comic con (Planet Comicon in Kansas City, Missouri)
- THE GAME

Oh man what a busy comic. I guess I liked the panel layout of the basketball comic so gave it another try. But I definitely crammed too much into the space, or at least should've used some SNEAKY LIGHTING EFFECTS to help draw the eye around more. I guess I wasn't too keen on this one, despite the ambitious visuals.
And yeah the haircuts were based on the letters C and F, for celsius and fahrenheit ;)

So the "Four Horsemen" project now has an official name and is also FINISHED AND READY FOR PRINTING. Definitely by far the most visually demanding project I've undertaken and I am very proud and very excited about it.
Also I may or may not have put some of your names on the intro page ;)

Apologies for the delay. Still cramming that four horseman story like mad but it's very close to being finished and it's looking OH SO GOOD and oh yes you better believe I will be namedropping you lovelies in the book.
As you can see with this comic draft the original layout was pretty standard bulge but I realised the vertical panels really didn't cater to what was going on. I realised I had the luxury of NO SPEECHBUBBLES WHATSOEVER, so used the opportunity to have some fun with the panels to...

Sorry about the lack of comic yesterday. I was tabling at Liverpool MCM and in that time I didn't have time to wander deep enough into the mine of my mind to find a nuggest of gold for Monday.
So I decided to dedicate this week entirely to progress on the four horseman project. But I don't want to leave you guys completely empty-bulged this week so here are 3 random panels from said project that make absolutely no sense out of context, as you can see the humour and general style doesn't ...

As soon as I thought this one up my joy of thinking up a good joke was soon overwhelmed with the harrowing knowledge that I would have to draw a crowd of people in every panel. BUT HEY, IT'S IMPORTANT TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF. And I liked how the end result came out considering I kind of half-arsed the crowd, my lazy decision to not colour them all individually made them look more like an ocean which fell into the theme of the comic nicely.
As you can see originally the lifeguard panel was gonna ...

My latest creative project has finally started hitting the realm of FINISHED PAGES, how exciting. Hoping to have it completed by the end of the month. Here is the first page to get you pumped.
You might recognise these cool cats from a comic strip I did some time ago. And yes, drawing their horses has been quite the challenge. In fact this whole project has been rich in drawing challenges, like that first panel for example, oh lordy, what a fanny that was, but OH SO WORTH IT.
